Fel Burst - An interruptable cast that deals a heavy fel damage on completion. He casts this every 12-15 seconds, and you will need to use cc to stop the cast if your interrupt is on cooldown.

Earthquake - Drops rocks in three spots around the area. Jormog the Behemoth will tunnel under the ground and do laps around the room, occasionally surfacing. When he surfaces, he will then charge at you. You want Jormog the Behemoth to charge into as many of the rocks that fell during Earthquake as you can. Hitting a rock will remove a stack of Fel Hardened Scales. If you are hit by Jormog the Behemoth during his charge, you will be stunned for 5 seconds and may die.

Bile Spitter Egg - An add that will spawn following Earthquake. If Bile Spitter Egg is not killed before it's cast finishes, it will spawn a Bile Spitter.

Bile Spitter - A stationary add that will spawn swirlies under the player which will do minor damage.

Fel Shock - An unavoidable DoT that deals a small amount of damage.

Jormog the Behemoth

Fel Hardened Scales - A damage reduction buff, that starts with 9 stacks. A stack is removed when Jormog collides with a rock from Earthquake.

Sonic Scream - Periodic cast which deals moderate sonic damage and interrupts the player. This can be stopped with crowd control.

Fel-Infused Saliva - Instant attack which deals minor fire damage.

Fel Burst - You can interrupt this cast either by using Summon Felhunter kick, Mortal Coil or as a last option cast a Fear or Shadowfury

Try make Jormog the Behemoth charge into as many of the rocks that fell during Earthquake as you can. Make sure he doesn't hit you during his charge as he will stun you.

Whenever a Bile Spitter Egg spawns, make sure you kill it off as quickly as possible. Consider either applying Havoc onto it, or apply Havoc to another target and then cast onto the Bile Spitter Egg.

Keep an eye out for when Jormog the Behemoth casts Sonic Scream. This cast deals damage and interrupts you. This cast can be stopped by crowd control

I have killed this after a lot of tries and here is a tip that would have save me half my tries:

Drain Life outheals the damage Jarmog deals in P2. So once Tugar is dead, you don't have to race Jarmog. You can just sit back and channel drainlife until your full hp, dps while you drop back to 50% and heal yourself up again. Dunno if there is an enrage timer, but for me Drain Life kept me alive till I could nuke the boss with my 5th Dark Soul.

Hello fellow destruction locks...

I finally beat this challenge today after countless tries. The main problem I faced was having enough dps to take down the egg spawns as they grew larger and larger over time. On my closest attempts I would have up to 6-7 eggs dropping, which became nearly impossible to DPS down while performing all other mechanics.

I finally beat it today with the help of a trinket from Emerald nightmare, the ravaged seed pod. The cooldown and function of the trinket were perfect for egg spawns and added just enough extra DPS to ensure they all died. cataclysm + 2x ROF, + seed pod would usually take them all down, with a few SB snipes in there to clean up if needed. Give it a shot if you're having similar issues and see if it helps.

A little thing that makes this fight so much easier: Curse of Tongues on Tugar. It increases Fel Burst cast time so you can pretty safely use Fear or Stun to interrupt it. I'd recommend it during little worm phase, and saving Interrupt and Coil for when Jormog is back and you sometimes don't have enough gcds.

Great guide, thank you Loozy! Managed to do it on destro after 141 wipes.
I had the following stats: 34% haste, 14% vers, 5% leech. The high haste makes casting Fear much better. I was dying early and couldn't get into the flow of it so I opted for more vers/leech which made Tugar's melee insignificant.
Do not neglect using Fear and Shadowfury. I forced myself to Fear as much as possible and use Spell Lock only when nothing else was up. Kept Curse of Tongues up all the time on both. Makes fearing the Sonic Scream easier. Especially if you end with Jormog enraged at the end. Try staying next Jormog to cleave and move to the center when rocks/eggs drop. You need to damage Jormog too so you don't have him at full health enraged and this is very doable once his stacks are gone. Alternale Mocral Coil, Shadowfury and Fear if you have Jormog up at the end. Chain Fearing doesn't work.
Ravaged Seed Pod lines up perfectly with eggs and helps immensely.
Went with Rain of Chaos as the Infernal procs felt much better.

Warlock is another one of the classes I basically dont play at all besides dailies and leveling up every exp from 50-60 etc, so my missing muscle memory of the important spells really came to haunt me. But finally Ive solved the encounter.:)

Two important things imo:

#1 The last phase is really easy as WL. That means you dont have to bring the worm down a lot. 30%-50% should be enough. Just dont stand directly infront of the worm, use your interrupts like fear, coil, infernal etc. Other classes like Priest and Monk have to struggle here a bit more. As I heard there is diminishing returns on fear, so you cant cast it forever. But you can even fail here and survive a sonic beam while priest gets one shotted with 15000 dmg. :)

#2 Its not in the guide, but also mentioned by other users: Use Curse of Tongues . Its a REALLY awesome spell to counter the tauren, when your other two instants are on cooldown. Without it you have a hard time to react to interrupt with fear, but this way its manageable without having to wait for his cast while doing nothing, so you wont have gcd troubles.

i had much easier time with flashover and soul sonduit talents than the ones suggested cuz i had trouble with movement and making the most out of burst windows. these two talents helped with overall damage, made it easier to squeeze chaos bolts before the cast interrupts from the snake, and that helped lots

"Honestly, this is one of the more simple and easy mage tower challenges." Yeah this line has zero reason to be in this guide, people don't look up a guide because something is easy, and its just needlessly condescending.

The challenge is better described as doable, for me that meant 50ish attempts as someone who hasn't done anything on a warlock since this challenge during legion.

Save yourself the trouble and at least get the MoP pvp gear for sockets, use old content int gems if you don't need the haste, and consider some old raid trinkets. The stat priority that worked best for me was int > haste > vers, the latter really helps stay alive so you can spend less time spamming drain life and more time dealing damage. Ravaged seed pod was MVP for me, as dropping it on the eggs along with cataclysm takes care of them, which frees me up to focus on Tugar, and the cooldown means it will be up every time. It does extremely high damage so keep Tugar in its sickly green circle, and the added leech means you can drain life back to full every time much faster than you normally could, which again means more time for damage.

Stack haste, and aim for 100% uptime of curse of tongues on BOTH bosses until they die. You want to be able to fear every single Sonic scream and Fel burst, while keeping shadowfury, mortal coil, and spell lock for oopsie moments. If you can't fear faster than they can cast these things, get more haste.

The lower Jormog's health is when Tugar dies the better, but you can still take your time to kill Jormog at your own pace as long as you interrupt his sonic scream, your cc will have dr so fear the first couple and shadowfury the next, etc. You can take one early sonic scream if you're full, and again the above mentioned trinket does stupid damage to the worm and lets you self heal faster than you have any right to.

I used /target macros for both bosses for all CC spells, shadowburn for the stun totem, and used my normal focus macro for havoc when both bosses are up. Pay attention to enemy spell timers, as this is a control fight, not a dps race.

For consumables I used War-Scrolls of Intellect, Boralus Blood Sausage, Greater Flask of Endless Fathoms, Potion of Prolonged Power, any augment rune, any drums, Shadowcore oil, and Heavy Desolate Armor Kit, but don't expect much from the last two.

For those looking to do this in Dragonflight, it's very doable without a lot of special gear or prep. I leveled a fresh warlock to 70 and did this the same day I capped the toon. The only special equipment I got for the fight was Ravaged Seed Pod; no consumables or enchants. It took me 16 attempts, most of them were just tweaking my UI and keybinds and making macros as I went.

I used this talent loadout: BsQA+63P9mnDJYMkogOeTUhr8CQSSSCkWKKRaJJhUCSyBUSSEgWpIJAAAAAAAAAAAASCKJRA
I can't tell what the complete suggested loadout is in this guide because it's currently malformed / broken for me, but something to note with the base Warlock tree was picking up Pact of Gluttony. It was helpful to be able to cast Soulburn > Drain Life if my health was getting low or I messed up a mechanic by accident and needed to recover. I'll include the macros I wrote to make this fight even easier, though a few of them were already suggested in below comments and formatted a little differently.

Big emergency Healthstone:

Here's some tips that helped me get this down pretty easily:

Use your felhunter, you'll need Spell Lock.
One of the main mechanics is interrupting Tugar, but the interrupt macros make it super easy since you don't need to hard swap off DPS'ing Jormog or the eggs when you need to do it. If the pet interrupt macro is still on cooldown, use your mortal coil as a backup. If both were on cooldown I didn't bother trying to cast Fear or Shadowfury, I just cast Dark Pact and ate the damage and recovered with a Soulburn > Drain Life.
If you get a Tugar interrupt and totem at the same time... DON'T PANIC. You have a lot more time to interrupt the totem than Tugar, so just take care of Tugar first and then cast your Shadowburn auto-target macro.
I didn't bother to interrupt the sonic scream from Jormog with fear, but you could if you want to. Warlock is very tanky in Dragonflight and has a lot of healing, but I just did my trusty Soulburn > Drain Life to recover if my health was getting low.
If your health is getting low (sub 50%), it's OK to stop DPS'ing and cast Soulburn > Drain Life to recover. Just make sure to clip the channel if you need to interrupt or kill a totem.
Try to keep one Shadowburn in reserve for when the totem comes up so you don't need to worry about watching the fight timers super closely. If you managed to use all your Shadowburn charges up, Conflagrate is an OK emergency backup, you'll just have to remember to hard swap to the totem since the macro won't work.
Every time the eggs were up I waited until it was safe to run to the center and drop my seedpod ground AOE so all the eggs were sitting in it. If some of the eggs hatched before I could finish them off, it was OK since the worms usually got killed by the Seedpod AOE. I cleaned up any eggs or worms with Havoc and Shadowburn.
Try to get Jormog to go through as may boulders each round as possible, the faster you can get charges off him the sooner you can start cleave DPS'ing him down.
As soon as Jormog is at around 5 stacks I tried to use Havoc and keep Immolate up on him as much as I could (but don't Havoc too close to an egg window!) to start DPS'ing him down and slowing my DPS on Tugar.
Once you get rid of all the stacks on Jormog keep wittling him down, if you've been chipping away at both Tugar and Jormog at the same time Tugar will be sub 20% health when Jormog is sub 50%. I decided to keep pushing Jormog until 20% health and killed Tugar and cleaned up the fight, but you can do whatever is most comfortable for you. I had a few attempts where I killed Tugar earlier but because I didn't have drums or other consumes it was hard to get him from 60% to dead before I died.

All in all, this is one of the easier Mage Tower fights this tuning cycle, good luck!

1. Full set of haste/mastery gear fully enchanted (leech where possible)
2. seed pod and eye of skovald trinkets
3. focus macros for bloodtotem for fear/spell lock/mortal coil
4. targetexact macro for shadowburn on the totem
5. DBM challenges

I remember this being pretty easy in Legion. I did it on all 4 specs at the time. I don't know what the deal is but I am having an awful time with it on my destro lock in 10.1.5.
Funny thing is I just did the Guardian one at level 63 with heirlooms and no enchants in 6 attempts. I think the scaling is wonky.

Edit: I tried it on my level 60 windwalker in mostly unenchanted pre-launch event gear with a Garrosh heirloom and killed it in around 10 pulls with no consumables. The scaling definitely needs work. In the meantime I recommend doing these on unleveled alts, especially if they are wearing well-optimized gear from previous tiers.

If you're one of the lucky ducks who made/race changed to a Tauren Warlock, just know that your War Stomp racial can be used to interrupt the Fel Burst. It's still half a second cast and you need to be within range. It helped me immensely when I faced an overlap between mechanics and my instant casts on cooldown, being forced to lose time by moving.

My talent export (i have pick aoe talents as Rain of Fire / Cataclysm. etc I had problem with eggs even with seed trinket to kill them (make sure you got your soul shard ready before Egg part so you can cast Rain on them). Do not let yourself to be hit by those falling eggs so do not stand in the middle. Also do not stand in the middle of the middle. You will have problem to see stones vs rolling stone where it lands vs those rock shards. stand little away of it.

Also recommends instead of talent: Soulburn go with Pact of Gluttony. And also full buff etc I got 625 Intellect. Good place for socket gear is Dragon Soul raid + you can get mount. also not quite sure about Dark Pact talent. I have problem to remember myself to cast it if I fail interrupt.

Prepatch has completely screwed over the scaling of the Mage Tower entirely. My lock has 36% haste at level 70, and 4% inside of the scenario. Hoping this is rectified at level 80
