Corrupted Risen Arbalest
Mana Sting - Ability that targets you indicated by a large blue arrow. Can be interrupted by crowd control or intercepted by ally NPCs. Deals heavy damage and drains mana over time. Dispel this Immediately.

Corrupted Risen Mage

Arcane Blitz - Upon successful cast, stacks a buff that grants increasing damage. Should interrupt with Rebuke at 1-2 stacks to lower damage intake.

Corrupted Risen Soldier

Knife Dance - Channel that deals significant AoE damage to your entire party. Crowd control with Hammer of Justice and Turn Evil to interrupt the channel or be prepared with high throughput abilities. When you have multiple cast at the same time use Blinding Light or stop one and heal through the second cast.

Hammer of Justice him on cooldown, it won't stop any mechanics, but can buy you some time and reduce the healing you need to do to your allies.

When cooldowns are active, stand in the puddle and get some damage in through Crusader Strike.

Use Holy Shock offensively, while healing the group with Word of Glory.

Use Divine Shield strategically. Try to use it later in the encounter, and use it to get as much DAMAGE as possible.

Before he leaps drop a Consecration, this will give you as much value from their damage as possible.

Make sure to spend the extra Holy Shocks from offensively if possible to get the most damage you can.

Requesting an update please - talent build is outdated, and guide talks about using both blinding light and repentance, which is impossible. Guide is tagged to 10.0.7, which is inaccurate.

Just finished this after about 140 attempts. Never played pally or a healer before so it took some time to learn the class and the fight. I read online that pally was easy and mine was already geared from doing the ret fight so I went with it. I did use some twink gear. 720 int, 24% haste buffed to help myself overcome lack of skill. Talents were just a base M+ build I found online. I didn't change talents during 'timeout'.

Tips P1
Learning when to DPS really makes things go faster, don't be afraid to push DPS so the damage output of the fight is much less.
The mage should be kicked at some point but if you don't it's ok. The damage output of the mage in DF is meh at best.
The 'blue arrow' will drain your mana in a heartbeat so always put it on the NPC. Dispel is best but you can also heal through it too.
The 'knives' is DEADLY and you must handle it perfectly or everyone will just fall over. You must CC AFTER the cast finishes so the next cast is fixate (which you can heal through). If you CC before the cast goes off they'll just cast it again after it breaks and you won't have anything to stop it.
I used hero, pot, and trinket on the fourth wave. The other waves are manageable without cooldowns once you get the flow down.

Tips P2
P2 is pretty easy but the eyes do a lot of damage if you try and yolo it. I killed them one at a time when not bubbled so to not die. You can also out range their damage so just take an extra 30 seconds (you have plenty of time) and do it slower than mass aoe.

Tips P3
The NPC's really don't take much damage from each other. Put your beacons on two and then heal the other. The 8 'adds' that spawn and need to be healed are somewhat tricky. LoH one, insta cast the others. You won't have time for casts. I missed an add during one of my attempts and it spawns at the end but BEFORE the boss. So if you miss a 'heal ad' just kill it at the end and then progress to the final fight.
The final fight was a cluster. I managed a kill my third attempt. First attempt I was trying to keep myself at 25% as to not kill the NPC's but just died. Second attempt I got stuck running into the stairs and died from AOE (GG). Third time I just healed myself and the group non stop. The room filled up with the boss around 30% but I was able to stand in the green aoe and heal myself and the 3 npcs's through the damage. I imagine the twink gear helped this a lot as it felt a bit like cheating (IE, not supposed to be able to do that).

Glad that is over as I don't enjoy healing. I would think for someone familiar with healing and pally, this would be pretty easy once you figure out the small details of the fight.

Today I completed this challenge and I wanna give some tips to all the other people that, like me struggled and want to get it done. I've never healed and mostly played dps/tank so this challenge was the hardest by a mile. I consider myself a good player with AOTC in all of the season since I started playing and around the 3k rio, but this challenge made me question that.

Remember if you're like me and haven't healed you're gonna have a hard time learning it so I found this talent build to make healing simpler: it removes some buttons in favor of passives because as a noob you just don't know when to press X button or Y button. Having fewer buttons makes the fight easier.

Now to the tips part:
-For people that haven't healed getting gear optimizations is a must: I went in with 4/5 Aberrus set, 4/8 on the Raging Tempest set, Elemental Lariat, full gem enchant, a legion legendary ring.
-Consumables: drums, war-scrolls of fortitude, intellect and battle-shout, Potion of Shocking disclosure and phial of Glacial Fury.
-Your most important pieces of gear are the trinkets: Ravaged Seed Pod and Unblinking Gaze of Sethe for p1 and Beacon of the Beyond for last boss.

Tips per stages:

Stage one: By far the hardest but the Gaze did about 20% of my damage while seed pod came in 2nd with about 10%. Like most other guides have said save cd's for 4th wave which hits the most and don't panic. On the set with one soldier and one mage don't start casting turn evil as soon as he casts his blade dance as the cast of turn evil is faster than his cast and he'll just recast again. This has wiped me the most because if you fail that you have to use Hammer of justice which is needed and makes the next set of adds easier to deal with.

Stage two: I've found the most success in using divine shield instantly and killing 3 adds then killing the other 3 one at a time. The next mob is really easy just pull him outside the room and kill him. Then kill orbs, run up, heal the NE ghosts and dispel the feared guy. For the archer I preferred to CC every arrow instead of hiding behind the dudes I just healed. Run up on the stairs again and WAIT. You need to get Divine shield back. The timer is really lenient so don't worry. As soon as you have divine shield back up enter the room and NUKE the eyes. These will wipe you the most. If you're fast enough you can kill all 3 of them in the divine shield window if not 2 are enough. Finish off the mob and WAIT.
Swap your seed pod for beacon of the beyond.
P3: Now that you have all of your cooldowns back enter the room. Put Beacons back your team one on the tank dude and the other and heal the ghosts going into the boss and your team. Nothing hard here. If you've done Stage one you can do this stage really really easily.

Last boss: Pop everything and do as much damage as you can. Hammer on cd and drop a consecration whenever he jumps on you. While most guides recommend you being at about 25-50% hp for my safety being over 50% proved to make the fight way easier. If you Beacon right at the start you get your beacon back almost as you are about to run out of space. Mine didn't crit but did about 30k damage while being my top damage ability and doing 30% of my damage. Stay to the edge to maximize your space.

Was so happy to get it done and I assure you, the mount is worth it. Its awesome.

I'm trying this one after having completed it on my druid and priest in the last couple days. I don't understand this: when I ran as my priest earlier today, knife dance was dealing about 1.5k/tick to the NPCs. On my pally, it's hitting them for 3.5k/tick. I don't think it hit anywhere near that hard for the druid's run either. I guess this thing must be tuned differently for each class, and I have noticed arcane blitz seems less dangerous than on my priest's run, but this is absolutely melting my party. I can barely compensate for one cast going, let alone two. Is this bugged? I just checked my shaman and it's even lower for him, 1.1k.

edit: Finally got it done today, I guess my reactions just weren't fast enough yesterday. The key is CCing the soldiers immediately and using the right CC at the right time so there's always one available. But I really do wonder why that knife dance hits the paladin's party more than twice as hard as any other healer's party (not including monk, which I haven't tried). I think the end boss is also significantly harder as a paladin vs. those other three classes because stand in fire to melee, but I guess it may be even harder for a monk.

I’ve attempted this challenge over 50 times now. I’ve set up a specialized gear set for it, using TWW Darkmoon: Symbiosis + Writhing Armor, with the rest of my equipment ranging from ilvl 242–320, all socketed. You could say my character is fully optimized for this challenge.

I have no trouble with the first phases—I honestly blast through them. But when it comes to the end boss, I just can’t seem to defeat him. Healing up the ghosts before they reach him is incredibly difficult; you need to use cooldowns, drums, intellect potions—basically everything you’ve got.

Then there’s the boss himself, who deals insane damage with his jumps. Finishing this challenge feels nearly impossible because the NPCs contribute almost no damage, and if you’re above 50% health when he does his explosion, your team is wiped. Blizzard really messed up the scaling here; it just shouldn’t be this hard.

In the past, the first phase with the waves of mobs was considered the hardest part. While it’s still insanely difficult, the end boss is even more frustrating.

What makes it worse is that the entire tower takes about 10 minutes to complete. If you die at the end boss, you’re forced to repeat the entire thing—only to die again from bad RNG or some other nonsense.

Blizzard, please revisit the Mage Tower scaling. It can’t be right that the scaling is so broken that you need “special” gear just to stand a chance. I think we’re scaled to ilvl 140, while the challenge mobs and boss seem to be closer to ilvl 200. It’s just ridiculous.

Ugh, so frustrating. It's the last challenge that I'm missing. No wonder people buy carries.

Regardings my stats:
~820 Int with Flask and Food, which is honestly insane, still not enough.

Hi, everyone!

Just finished the HPala Mage Tower, which was my last one before getting the tome! I previously had very little experience playing H Pala, but have played both Prot and Ret at a semi-hardcore level.

Besides pre-nerf bear, this was definitely the hardest challenge by far.

Here's what I did to finish this in TWW.

Firstly, hero talents:

While on paper, Lightsmith is the higher throughput talent, HotS is way more damage. The damage trivializes most of the post-introduction phases in comparison to LS, especially with bubble.

Secondly, gear:

I did have 4-set, 626 sacbrood, 626 unbound changeling and the heroic Queen rare ring. All of my gear was socketed as well. I didn't bother trying to go for any timewalking gear or anything like that because I felt as though my gear was already quite strong as-is.

Consumables:

Use them. Augment runes, flasks, prolonged power potion, food, etc. Drums are necessary for last phase.

Now onto the actual fight:

The first phase hasn't changed much since hero talents have been introduced. Just pump, interrupt, CC, all that good stuff.

The second phase and onwards is where things get interesting. Since the pala mini-rework in 11.0.5, you get cooldown reduction on divine shield! This makes the challenge way easier (though still not a walk in the park by any means).

For the first set of eyes, bubble and send full damage. Clear the next couple of rooms as usual. What I like to do before the 2nd set of eyes is wait until divine shield comes up again (it's a 4-minute cd). With the timer being 5 minutes, you will have plenty of time to get to the last room and wait out the DS timer.

After freeing your allies, wait again for the DS timer. Yes, it's a lot of waiting but it's too good of a cooldown to not use to its' maximum. It will make or break your fight.

After you heal the ghosts, it's boss time.

This is where I feel many guides are very misleading; you do NOT want to be more than 40% hp. I found this to be a good middle ground where I had time to run and top myself up while also keeping the team alive. I feel as though 30% puts you too low after the mechanic, and 50% will almost 1shot your team. If you're above 50% with the mechanic coming in soon, feel free to stand in the fire. It seems counter!@#$%^ive, but you do NOT want to be above 40% HP.

With HotS, you wanna hold your damage until right after the 1st ignite soul. For every ignite soul after, same thing; hold damage until right after the mechanic goes through.

Phase 2 seems overtuned on current patch. I have 12k health with the scaling. The eyeballs tick for 1-2k, and they detonate for 11k. Unless I can kill all of them within my 8s Divine Shield window, I have no idea how this is supposed to be accomplished.

I learned that you can outrange the tick damage by standing in the exact center of the room. Here is the strat I used:

stand in the center of the room, use HS > Judg > HS > Divine Protection > Hammer of Wrath to kill one eye.
immediately top up with WOG
cast Holy Prism on myself to damage the remaining eyes
cast Divine Toll > Avenging Wrath > Divine Shield
go ham and kill all the eyes before Shield runs out

Since Legion Remix launch the HP/DMG in Mage Tower has been bugged.
Example, Holy Paladin stage; one detonate does ~20k dmg to you (one shot)

Bug reported, hope they fix asap :)

I just complete it with my main, 158 of ilvl, 1 trinket and main hand of str, and this talent tree: Holy-Herald of the Sun.

Recomendations:
Phase 1: bussiness as usual, take care of lifes, help with damage and focus on stun the soldiers and when there are 2 soldiers be prepared with blinding light just after they unfreezze.
Other phases: nothing new, follow the usual guides, no real problems here.
Last Phase (Final boss): forget all about keeping you at low life because of Ignite Soul, top yourself with the word of glory or eternal flame so you don't do too much damage to the party and stay in the fel consecration to reduce consecrated area at the end of the combat.

I'm not sure if the ignite soul change is intended, a bug or what, but keeping your health low at the end of Ignite Soul with a paladin will kill your party.
