About the Author
My name is Guiltyas, I'm currently raiding in Pure-Turalyon, where I joined towards the end of BFA. I've played Feral Druid since Wrath of the Lich King when I first picked it up as a main spec, since then I've engaged in almost all aspects of the game, from RBGs, to Challenge Modes, to Arena's, and of course to fairly high end raiding (around world 100 at the moment).
I've been an active and enthusiastic member of the feral druid community since discord heralded a new era of engagement among spec communities, I'm fairly well respected as a source of information and back that up with a long record of high end feral performance, I've claimed multiple rank 1's across different fights in different raid tiers, I've obtained Gladiator in the past (legion season 1), and now have a long history of providing information and help about about Feral Druid.
I'm enormously enthusiast about the spec and you can find me talking about Feral (passionately) in a few different places,
Twitter
, my
stream
, and of course the
Dreamgrove Discord
!
I enjoy walks on the beach and this is really what makes me reliable on the subject of Ferals! I do not own a cat :( but do appreciate them.
Recommended Gear for Feral Druid in Dragonflight
What is the BiS Feral Druid gear?
With many different sources of gearing and loot scarcity in Dragonflight, targeting your absolute Best in Slot gear isn't entirely realistic; instead, we've created a Best in Slot list from the ideal Feral Druid drops found in Dragonflight from Mythic+ Dungeons and Aberrus to help you decide what to prioritize.
While raid drops are generally the most reliable way of getting high item level gear, many other items can be just as good, if not better, so you should reference the stat priorities listed on the
stats page
and our Raidbots guide to help determine your own BiS gear based on what is available to you.
As a rough guideline follow the stat priority of:
Crit > Mastery >= Haste > Versatility
. Don't neglect the value of
Agility
, a substantial increase in ilvl is generally worth it compared to optimized stats. It is always recommended that you use
Raidbots
to sim your own character, since every character is different.
Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible Best in Slot Gear for Feral Druid
While raid items are more deterministically obtainable than Mythic+ ones, there can be usually heavy competition for them. Make sure you are always aiming for item level upgrades as those will be usually worth it even if you're obtaining items with poor itemization. Overall, for raids, Feral Druids will be looking into items with Crit and mastery.

Mythic+ Best in Slot Gear for Feral Druid
As usual with Mythic+ items, while there may be a theoretical best in slot selection for each slot in a simulation, it’s unlikely you’ll ever be able to achieve such a perfect character in reality. Feral Druids should focus on seeking items that prioritize Crit for the most part, with Haste and Mastery both providing value as second choices.

Dawn of the Infinite Gear for Feral Druids
With the new Mega-Dungeon in Patch 10.1.5, there is a new source of gear for Feral Druids. This gear will be interesting if you don't have access to high-end Mythic+ or Mythic Raid pieces, but, if you do, there aren't really many pieces to go after.
Out of gear from the mega-dungeon, the most interesting pieces to seek are:
Mirror of Fractured Tomorrows
- Is the only trinket that really makes it onto any list, it's essentially just a Puzzlebox, a pretty big stat on use trinket. It will be at least competitive with the best other trinkets.
Borrowed Time
- This polearm has a fancy new stat in Timestrike, It's unlikely to be better than Djaruun but might be the 2nd best option
Best Feral Druid Trinkets in Dragonflight
Feral Druids are mainly looking for one powerful on-use trinket to pair with their cooldowns, and a supplementary either proc or flat stat trinket. The stats Feral is most looking for on trinkets are mastery and critical strike.

Notes
S
Neltharion's Call to Suffering
Neltharion
It's really just the best trinket of the tier, Probably shouldn't be a huge surprise since it's the very rare class trinket but hey it's just a lot of stats..
S
Beacon to the Beyond
Scalecommander Sarkareth
Just a big hefty on use damage trinket.
A
Dragonfire Bomb Dispenser
Zskarn
We Crit A LOT.
A
Ominous Chromatic Essence
Neldris
It's this tier's stat stick, if you have one aligned to each stat it's pretty good otherwise ehhhh.
A
Harlan's Loaded Dice
Freehold
An old favourite, it's just stats.
A
Homeland Raid Horn
Uldaman
There is only so many ways you can say "it just does damage man".
A
Mirror of Fractured Tomorrows
Dawn of the Infinite
Big chunky stat on use trinket.
A
Erupting Spear Fragment
Neltharus
Pretty good trinket but not on the feral loot spec, Might be kind of annoying to get. Mostly good in keys.
B
Mark of Dargrul
Neltharion's Lair
This trinket has been terrible for the longest time but just got a huge buff so it might be good now? check back later and don't trade it..
B
Irideus Fragment
Halls of Infusion
Lot of stats, the decay is not ideal but it's really the best on use stat trinket of the season.
B
Screaming Black Dragonscale
Kazzara, the Hellforged
Looks SUSPICIOUSLY familiar.
C
Globe of Jagged Ice
Halls of Infusion
C
Mutated Magmammoth Scale
Neltharus

Best Items to Upgrade with Flightstones for Feral Druids
Djaruun, Pillar of the Elder Flame
- From Heroic you can upgrade it once, from lower difficulties you can upgrade it further
Beacon to the Beyond
Harlan's Loaded Dice
Homeland Raid Horn
Irideus Fragment
With Flightstones being a limited currency, Feral Druids should focus on upgrading trinkets first. After that, you may want to look at upgrading your lowest item level pieces, keep an eye out for slots with sockets on them.
Crafted Gear for Feral Druids in Dragonflight
Dragonflight adds many new options for crafted gear, allowing players to craft even Mythic-equivalent gear! You'll generally want to supplement gear from Raids and Mythic+ with crafted pieces. Note that crafting is limited by
Spark of Shadowflame
. After receiving your first
Spark of Shadowflame
from the first week of Season 2, you will receive another
Spark of Shadowflame
every other week while Season 2 is active. Learn more in our guide below.
Spark of Shadowflame Guide
Best Gear to Spend Spark of Shadowflame for Feral Druids
Once you obtain
Spark of Shadowflame
, you should aim to craft the following items at the highest item level possible. Note that you may use the recrafting system to increase its item level later if you so desire. After crafting your best pieces, you can use sparks to improve slots that you have the lowest item level pieces, aiming to increase your average item level.
As always the best early craft is almost certainly a weapon. There are close to no scenarios were it's the wrong decision to craft a weapon first. Pick whichever one has the coolest transmog and fire away.
With the adjustments to crafted gear in season 2 It's looking like a BOOTS SEASON. The Toxic Pair of boots (yes there's two of them, they're basically identical though) are pretty good options, especially when paired with a
Toxified Armor Patch
.
The other options are somewhat varied. Of course if you have the Eranog ring then early on
Flaring Cowl
remains an incredibly strong option due to it enabling the ring proc.
Elemental Lariat
will be a strong option (primarily in M+) eventually however the 10.0.7 changes that make the duration dependent on the number of sockets you have will make it significantly worse early on.
Spore Colony Shoulderguards
are very strong options (they might even beat out the boots) however they become much worse as targets are added and also consume a Tier slot, which if you're running Flaring Cowl to enable the ring early on rather rules them out!
Kinetic Pillar of the Isles
/
Obsidian Seared Halberd
- Weapons are pretty good
A Pair of Boots -
Infurious Footwraps of Indemnity
for M+ or
Toxic Thorn Footwraps
/
Slimy Expulsion Boots
for raid
Spore Colony Shoulderguards
- If it doesn't Interfere with your Tier
Flaring Cowl
- If you have Eranog Ring
Best Embellishments for Feral Druids
Crafting
items with Embellishments
gives them special properties and effects in addition to regular stats. However, you may only wear 2 pieces of gear with Embellishments at a time. With that in mind, the best Embellishments are:
Toxified Armor Patch
- If you have one of the toxic items equipped.
Blue Silken Lining
- If you're REALLY desperate.
Alchemical Flavor Pocket
- Doesn't cost an Embellishment slot and absolutely WILL NOT save you gold but nice to have.
Primordial Stones for Feral Druids in Season 2
For Feral Druids, Primordial Stones and the
Onyx Annulet
are roughly equivalent to approximately 420 rings on single target, You'll want to replace the Annulet almost immediately.
