Mythic+ Rating Summary

The higher the keystone level completed and the more affixes that are on the key, the more rating you will get. This increase is linear unlike Raider.io's exponential scoring system.

A small amount of points are awarded or subtracted based on how much faster or slower the dungeon was completed.

Score is accumulated for your highest key on both Tyrannical and Fortified. Your higher key of the two will award 100% of the score, but the lower key of the two will only contribute 33% score for the run.

In LFG, your overall Mythic+ Rating will be shown to group leaders or applicants, along with your highest keystone and your Dungeon Mythic+ Rating for that dungeon.

How Mythic+ Dungeon Score is Calculated

37.5 rating for completing a keystone.

Each keystone level adds an extra 7.5 rating.

Each affix adds an additional 7.5 rating, with the Seasonal affix Tormented adding 15 rating.

You can earn up to 7.5 points by being up to 40% faster than the keystone timer.

You can lose up to 15 points by being up to 40% slower than the keystone timer.

Keystones that are massively over the timer will award 0 score.

2,000 Mythic+ rating is equivalent to completing a +15 in every dungeon both Tyrannical and Fortified.

Since the achievement is based on rating instead of completing a +15, this means that you can complete a +14 in one dungeon and replace it with a +16 in another dungeon!

If you’re trying to complete Keystone Master in a single week, you’ll need to complete a +24 in every dungeon.

These values are not even close. As I look over the calculation and compare it to the actual number being given in Game. They do not match first of all it is using a base score for each affix fortified or tyrannical then adding them together not 33% smaller for one then the other. I am currently working on there exact calculation now.

I am a casual and solo player. Every time I question you I get "Dungeons and raids are not required for you to advance except for the fact that they are! All the the time you come I come across the requirement to complete a dungeon to kill a boss that is required to complete a quest, thats called requiring a dungeon guys! Up[grading gear? Your not going to upgrade Mythic gear unless yo do dungeons, on mythic level , and are really good at it. Its B.S. I get it, its your game to and you have a right to set up parameters the way you want but it would be nice just to be able to enjoy the game in its fullest without all the high level crap that goes on.;

In my opinion the numbers given in the article are a bit confusing.
Let me give some better numbers:

30 points base for completing a key
+5 points for every keystone level
+5 points for every affix (not including Tyrannical / Fortified)
+10 points for the seasonal affix

Explanation:

Let us have a look at the following statement made in the article:

When you hover over each dungeon your character's Mythic+ page, you'll see the amount of score that you've earned in each dungeon! The total Dungeon score is accumulated by the highest key complete on both Tyrannical and Fortified. The higher key of the two will award 100% of the score, but the lower key of the two will only contribute 33.33% score for the run.

The problem is that they set the rating for the higher key to be 100%.

As far as I can tell, the way Blizzard is calculating the total score for a dungeon is as follows:
total dungeon score = higher key * 1.5 + lower key * 0.5
So the higher key will contribute 150% of its score to the total dungeon score and the lower key 50%.
This of course is mathematically the same as 100% and 33% but using the higher key score as base value of 100% makes the numbers in the article confusing as other comments here have demonstrated.

My version is also supported by the results of

According to the table in the article a +16 done in time should give 195 points at least where as Blizzard here only lists a score of 132 points.

With my numbers the 132 points given for the +16 in time make perfektly sense.

Using my numbers we can also do the following maths:

Assuming you completed a certain dungeon on +15 exactly in time (no time bonuses/penalties apply) on Tyrannical as well as Fortified you will get an overall rating for this dungeon of:
125 * 1.5 + 125 * 0.5 = 187.5 + 62.5 = 250
This fits perfectly to the fact that (in current season 3 of shadowlands) you need 2500 points to get Shadowlands Keystone Master: Season Three (as we have 10 dungeons) which prior to the introduction of the Mythic+ rating system was equivalent to doing all instances on +15 in time once.
Alternative you could do the dungeon also only once on one affix with a +24 key:
30 (base) + 24 (key levels) * 5 + 2 (affixes) * 5 + 10 (season affix) = 170 points for a +24 without time bonuses/penalties
170 * 1.5 + 0 * 0.5 = 255 dungeon rating
This also matches the experiences people have made and statements made in guides on how to get Shadowlands Keystone Master: Season Three.

Accurate for 10.2:

20 + (adjustedKeyLevel * 5) + (nLevelsAbove10 * 2) + (nAffixes * 10)

adjustedKeyLevel is the level of the keystone completed, minus 1 if it was not timed, and plus or minus up to 1 by failing or beating the timer by up to 40% (linearly interpolated).
nLevelsAbove10 is the number of keystone levels above level 10 (e.g, 11 = 1, 12 = 2). Any bonuses or penalties for depletion or failing or beating the timer do not affect these bonus points.
nAffixes is the number of affixes present at that keystone level (including Tyrannical or Fortified): 2-6 = 1, 7-13 = 2, 14+ = 3.

Lowest possible is 20 + ((adjustedKeyLevel - 2) * 5) + (nLevelsAbove10 * 2) + (nAffixes * 10)
Highest possible is 20 + ((adjustedKeyLevel + 1) * 5) + (nLevelsAbove10 * 2) + (nAffixes * 10)

Dungeon rating is 1.5 times highest between Tyrannical and Fortified + 0.5 times lowest.
Overall rating is sum of all eight dungeon ratings.

Based on early scores, it looks like the formula for Dragonflight season 4 is:

70 + (key level * 7) + (number of affixes * 10)

It looks like beating the timer by 40% or going over by 40% is only a bonus or penalty of 5 points, not a full key level. I'll update this if the formula is clarified or revealed.

Based on early scores, it looks like the formula for The War Within season 1 is:

125 + (key level * 15) + (number of affixes * 10) + 5 if key level >= 7

Scores are no longer calculated separately for Tyrannical and Fortified weeks and combined as in previous seasons. Raider.IO only shows up to three affixes, including the weekly Tyrannical or Fortified affix, but at +10 and higher both Tyrannical and Fortified affixes are active for a total of four.

125 + ((key level + number of affixes) * 15) + 15 if key level >= 12
