Blizzard April Fools 2016 Round Up
As usual in Blizzard fashion, we awoke to a bunch of brand new news that made us smile and get our hopes up only to realize...it's the first of April! Urg! We had quite a few fun little things shown to us across many of the Blizzard platforms.
Unfortunately, this means that Wowhead's
own post from April 1st
is also untrue. No Pepe Artifact, burning Garrison, Old Gods sponsoring the Darkmoon Faire, or Overwatch event in WoW. The entire Wowhead staff had a blast putting the data together and hope it made you smile!
News Roundup: April Fool's 2015, Warcraft Collaboration with Tony Swatton, April 2nd Hotfixes
We've had a few hints on Twitter in the last couple days about something called Azeroth Armory. It's been revealed that master blacksmith
Tony Swatton
and the rest of the
Sword and Stone
team will be creating an iconic Warcraft weapon tomorrow! Which weapon are you hoping will be crafted?

News Roundup: Challenge Mode reward updates, April Fools roundup
Challenge Mode Reward Updates
Blizzard has just posted a blog which details changes to the Challenge Mode rewards issued when the current "season" ends.
Some rewards are getting big changes, notably the Silver reward mounts from
Œuf de phénix ancestral
are now account-wide plus you automatically know all four color variations instead of having to pick one color. In addition, the nine
titles for Realm Best times
are being completely removed.
Watcher later posted clarifications on why the Realm Best titles are being permanently removed, which we've added to our blog.
* Reward ClarificationsWith the upcoming end of the Challenge Mode Season, we wanted to provide some additional clarification on how we plan to handle rewards.

All Achievements associated with Mists of Pandaria Challenge Modes will become Feats of Strength.

Rewards
We've been datamining a ton of gorgeous mount models, and now we're seeing some new mounts on the 5.3 PTR! The rewards for
Un manège de montures
are now learned by players who have obtained 200 mounts:
Faucon-dragon bleu cuirassé
for Alliance,
Faucon-dragon rouge cuirassé
for Horde. This achievement is reminiscent of
Une montagne de montures
and its dragonhawk rewards:
Faucon-dragon bleu
,
Faucon-dragon rouge

April Fools' Roundup, 3rd Wing of LFR Opens Today and Loot Overview
April Fools' Roundup
We love coming up with April Fools' ideas at Wowhead and seeing what clever things other sites come up with! This year, the Wowhead Staff plotted to liven up the 5.3 PTR with
cosmetic character auras, Earth Day, Doritios Locos feasts. and more
. We hope you all had fun with it, and we'd love to see some cosmetic rewards or updated world events in the future on the real PTR!
Here's some of our other favorite pranks:
ElvUI users did the Harlem Shake
upon logging in, which not only made your character dance but shook up all of your ability buttons.
WoW Interface discovered that Blizzard was switching to a Flash-based UI
, with swf and js files in the Patch 5.4 alpha client.
WarcraftPets broke the news that players can summon multiple pets at a time
but with a cost--the more pets you have out, the lower their polygon count

April Fool's and News Round Up
April Fool's is one of our favorite holidays at Wowhead--we love coming up with our own pranks and seeing what other sites get up to! This year, the Wowhead staff plotted and created
a newspost about moggable legendaries and new world events on the Mists of Pandaria beta
--two things that I really wish were real! We hope you all had fun with it--we certainly did with all the disguises, fake database items, and Photoshop magic.
Here's some other April Fool's posts we really liked from around the web:
So how did you like all our grandios announcements yesterday? All nonsense you think? Okay, okay, we admit it: Yes, they were April Fool's pranks. But don't you wish they were real? To let you in on the fun we had yesterday and make sure you didn't miss any of our carefully crafted jokes, we list all of them again in this thread for you to check out. Which of them did you like best?
Happy beginning of April! :)

Mists of Pandaria Preview: Transmoggable Legendaries, New World Events, and More!
There are some
huge
changes coming to Mists of Pandaria it appears in this latest beta patch. I've always wanted Blizzard to add more events to the world and it looks like they are going to be!
There's going to be a new fishing contest, a special event on every Friday the 13th, and more. There are also a few new rare mobs to discuss, from a Sha boss that focuses on World PvP to a group of vendors that spawn in rare locations that sell recolored legendaries that can be transmogged. A purple Thunderfury? Sign me up!
Oh, one more thing: APRIL FOOL'S.

Traveling Merchants Sell Legendary Reskins
While looking for wild pets added in this patch this weekend, Perculia and I found two very mysterious vendors on the roads in Duskwood and Burning Steppes!
Kayle
, a Blood Elf, sold us a
Corrupted Thunderfury
for which was
Lame-tonnerre, épée bénie du Cherchevent
's model with a purple tint. After selling it, she disappeared into the shadows, saying she would be back again next night. It's also worth noting that we could transmogrify it, which I've included a screenshot of.

April Fools' 2011 - We Won't Forget You, Crabby
Yet another April Fools' Day has come and gone softly into the night, leaving in its wake a bunch of jokes and rumors. This year seemed tame to the previous one, where we heard about everything from top guilds merging to aquariums being added, but sometimes tame is good--especially where being pranked is concerned. All in all, there were still some great jokes around the WoW community to be found and fun to be had.
Some of our favorites were:
WarcraftPets
told us about a newly implemented companion loyalty
. I mean, as Breanni puts it, Hunter pet loyalty is gone--but where exactly did it go?
A guild some of you may have heard of, Paragon,
came up with an elaborate guide to an encounter involving a certain Firelord you may also have heard of
.
Wings of Chaos and Divine Wings
made us sad when we realized they weren't
really
available.

Patch 4.1 - Delicia Fay and Armor Dyes Coming Soon to Azeroth
The upcoming Patch 4.1: Rise of the Zandalari just got
a lot
more exciting.
A new patch hit the PTR early this morning and with it comes some news that most of us World of Warcraft players have been waiting to hear for years. Yes, you will be able to dye your armor in 4.1. In addition to a couple pieces of new 5-man gear, we've datamined several brand new items called
Concentrated Dyes
as well as an uncategorized spell called
Flamme de cautérisation
. Additionally, after hopping on the PTR to check it out, we can confirm that this is a more potent dye that lets players tint their armor to preferred shades.
Blizzard's Tribute to Felicia Day's "The Guild"
Interestingly enough, the dyes are sold by a vendor named
Fouisseur des cavernes
. A redheaded Blood Elf, Delicia can be found in Booty Bay in a previously abandoned hut that's surrounded by textiles and articles of clothing. In the surrounding area, there are two other new NPCs called
Maze Tester
and
Diablosaure puissant
. It seems that Blizzard's added these two to help reaffirm the initial tribute--Delicia Fay being a somewhat obvious play on celebrity
Felicia Day's
name--as both are characters on her

New Forum Feature: Credibility!
Our team is always working behind the scenes to make the website easier to use and more enjoyable. I am proud to announce our latest feature:
Post Credibility
, an indicator of how credible a forum post is! It will be shown next to each forum post; it consists of a rating in numeric form (usually between 1 and 9, but some exceptional cases do exist) and one of 3 possible color coded levels is also displayed. They say a picture is worth a thousand words:
The credibility of the post is entirely calculated by an automated algorithm without human intervention and will thus be available immediately after posting. Our tests have shown that it's remarkably accurate.
We plan to add new
website achievements
for exceptionally credible posts and we will be looking at other ways to integrate this amazing new feature.
As always your feedback is very appreciated!

April Fools'!
Ah,
April Fools' Day
—the official holiday of the Internet!
So some of you may have noticed that our
homepage
changed designs yesterday—perhaps to something a little...
familiar
. For those of you who haven't picked it up yet, the change isn't permanent. :)
We really thought that the line about "original graphics, created by our art team" might be too much—but that didn't stop over
200 people
from sending us emails! So naturally we thought we'd re-print a few of the highlights—anonymously, of course.

WoWInterface Exclusive: The WoW Addon Store
Our sister site,
WoWInterface
, has got some breaking news on the latest major change to Blizzard's Addon system: The Blizzard Addon Store.
This is a gutsy decision on Blizzard's part—especially because adopting this business plan will make sites like WoWInterface, Curse, and UI.Worldofwar.net entirely obsolete—WoWI has already announced plans to shut down.
I encourage everyone to read the
announcement
, and to post their thoughts and opinions.

ZAM Enters the MMO Industry with TMNT Online!
That's right, ladies and gentlemen—ZAM is getting into the gaming business. The ZAM Network has announced development of its first original title:
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Online!
TMNTO gives the players the choice of a number of exciting classes, including the Ninja Rat, the Reporter, the Sports Vigilante, and (of course) the Ninja Turtle. In addition to this, though, TMNTO breaks new ground in the MMO industry by not only implementing voice recognition software that genuinely allows you to speak to the NPCs—It's
also
the first MMO in history to completely do away with the idea of experience points. Character upgrades are purchased with "Turtle Points", bought via microtransaction at the Turtle Store, and then activated by shouting "Cowabunga" into your microphone!
For the full details, as well as some awesome screenshots, check out the full press release on ZAM.com,
