The Zandalar Forever scenario on the Battle for Azeroth alpha wraps up the Zandalari storyline from Horde questing and sets the stage for the
Uldir plot
. Learn what happens next to King Rastakhan, Zul, and Talanji in our scenario preview!

Zandalar Forever Scenario
In this scenario, Zul with the help of Mythrax fights to shatter the final seal to Uldir, under orders of the Blood God G'huun. King Rastakhan kills Zul while Talanji holds off Mythrax. Bwonsamdi even lends his aid to King Rastakhan as G'huun has been meddling with the souls of the dead intended for the Loa of Death.
Zul, Reborn
and Mythrax are later encountered as bosses in Uldir, the first raid of Battle for Azeroth.

Bwonsamdi has whispered a warning to me: the enemy is on the move. I have gathered what defenses I could in the time allowed but we are dangerously under powered. I can only hope that, thanks to your efforts, the loa will be with us this day. Are you ready to defend Zandalar?
King Rastakhan: Zul's treachery cuts deeper than I realized. With his rebellion, he practically depleted my army. Those still loyal to me are dying on the battlefield behind me to these invading, endless swarms of blood trolls. I should have listened to Talanji.
The battle begins with G'huun giving orders to shatter the final seal to Uldir.
Stage 1 - Prepare the Assault
Gather your forces and mount Old K'zlotec.
Stage 2 - Battle of the Silver
Destroy the Nazmani invaders in the Silver.
Stage 3 - Secure the bridge to Dazar'alor
Secure the bridge to Dazar'alor.
Stage 4 - Threat from the West
Ride Pa'ku to the Zocalo.
Pa'ku: Rastakhan! The snakes of Vol'dun siege your western border. Do something about it.
Rastakhan: Talanji, take de Horde champion and muster our forces dere. I will work with Krag'wa to secure...
Talanji: Be careful, father. Dese are plans long set by an enemy beyond our reckoning.
Pa'ku: Something drives the Sethrak to attack. They are swarming like never before.
Talanji: Dis champion tells us dat Mythrax the Unraveler has arisen.
Pa'ku: Well... that is... inconvenient.
Stage 5 - Liberate the Zocalo
Rescue the civilians of the Zocalo and slay the sethrak army there.
Warguard Rakera: Form ranks! Warbows at de ready.
Talanji: Rakera, assuming command of our forces, I see.
Rakera: Talanji, riding loa into battle, I see.
Talanji: Dark times call for great deeds. How do things look?
Rakera: Dire. We are flanked. De loa are doing what dey can, but we need to rally any troll dat can hold a spear.
Talanji: Champion, look for any civilians still in de Zocalo and send dem to us. We will follow as we are able.
Stage 6 - Follow the Pack
Join Gonk and his pack at the bridge to Dazar'alor.
After you fight through, Zul is on top of Dazar'alor:
Zul: Come, Mythrax. Come, Unraveler. De final seal must be broken.
Mythrax appears and then heads right for the Zocalo!
Stage 7 - Meet with King Rastakhan
Find King Rastakhan at the entrance to Dazar'alor.
Talanji: Champion, de loa and I will hold off Mythrax for as long as possible. Find my father and put an end to Zul!
Rastakhan: Too many sided with Zul. Dere is only one path forward...
Rastakhan: Bwonsamdi, show yourself!
Bwonsamdi: Easy now, Ya Majesty. Bwonsamdi always helps his friends...
Bwonsamdi: Rise... rise! Don't ya be lazy now! Take up ya spears again and FIGHT!
Bwonsamdi: Hahahaha! See, Ya Majesty? Bwonsamdi always makes good on his deals!
Bwonsamdi: Jus' don't ya go forgettin' your end o' da bargain, now...
Final Stage - Reach Zul
Assault Dazar'alor to reach Zul before he can destroy the pyramid.
The spectral troops, led by King Rastakhan, battle through Dazar'alor, facing off against the Mogu, in alliance with Zul after the events of Mists of Pandaria.
The climatic event of facing off against Zul is not visible in game yet--it's marked as an unimplemented cinematic. However, based on datamining we know the following:
King Rastakhan kills Zul. However Zul is then resurrected and transformed into
Zul, Reborn
, an encounter in Uldir.
Zul!? How is he alive? I saw him die by my father's hand!
Analysis indicates high levels of corruption. Hypothesis: G'huun reanimated this specimen and enhanced it. Further testing required.
While the fate of the final seal is unknown in the scenario, G'huun's datamined broadcast text suggests the seals are eventually all broken:
The seals are broken. The end is here. Come, and be the first to receive my gift.
You fight against the inevitable. My plague cannot be stopped. It already festers within you.
The seals, broken. The titans, gone. The era of rot begins.
Such eager hosts. You will be the first to receive my gift.
You will carry my pestilence, and a vast, bubbling, putrid cyst will cover the world.
Finally, when the planet ruptures like a giant boil, my rot will spread across the cosmos.
