Many of us search for guidance on what to character to play, what build to use, what the "best" way to play is. We spend an inordinate amount of time searching for that elusive single answer that will tell us how to be better, how to play better, what the "right" way is, how to succeed at this game we love and avoid the dreaded "bad" label. We see this all the time; "What if I use this talent," a player asks, "Well, if you want to be Bad..." another replies scathingly.
This need to know the correct answer pervades the community and has led many avid players to create wonderful tools that we can lose ourselves in as we pursue our quest for perfection. And that brings us to today's Spotlight.
Subcreation
is a site that gathers statistics on a range of pertinent topics, crunches them, and spits out neat S to F* Tier Lists and Top Builds giving us an ordered ranking on a variety of interesting data.
Subcreation
Subcreation provides statistical analysis of Mythic+ dungeons (via the raider.io API), Raids, and PvP in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands and provides summaries of the top talents, covenants, soulbinds, conduits, legendaries, gear, enchants, and gems used in Mythic+ and Raids (via the Warcraft Logs API). Subcreation updates every eight hours for top Mythic+ runs, every 24 hours for top talents, covenants, soulbinds, conduits, legendaries, gear, enchants, and gems, for both raid and Mythic+, and every 24 hours for PvP statistics.
Subcreation provides rankings based on these collected data for Mythic+, Fated Raids, Rated PvP, and Top Covenants. Under each topic a wide variety of options allows us to dig in and see what comes out on top statistically. The site is clear, colorful, and very easy to use. For those who cringe at terms like statistical analysis and confidence interval, there is no need to dig any further than the top results. are easily accessible.
As with its fellow statistics and ranking sites, Subcreation can only work off measured data. This means that role rankings work pretty well for DPS, but Tanks and Healers are measured by damage and heals done per second, and as we all know, Tanking and Healing are significantly more nuanced than those numbers can measure.
Of course, no site can make you play better, only you can do that, but Subcreation can show you what the most successful players do and give you ideas and pointers for improving your game.
