With the launch of Patch 8.2.5, Blizzard has stealthily nerfed the Mythic Orgozoa and Za'qul encounters in the Eternal Palace raid. The Za'qul change also affect the Mythic version.
Orgozoa Nerf
The Orgozoa nerf deals with the intermission phase.
Orgozoa now travels about 35% slower, taking around 26 seconds to reach the bottom floor (previously was ~19 seconds)
This may not be the nerf people were expecting, but it does help shave a couple percent more off the boss before phase 2 begins and gives groups a longer time to get to the bottom, especially on Mythic difficulty.
For groups without a
Totem de bouffée de vent
or
Ruée rugissante
on Mythic difficulty, some classes had a very tough time depending down the ramp in time before the
Incubateur immense
cast needed to be interrupted.
Since Orgozoa travels slower overall, classes with a sprint can actually keep up with Orgozoa on the way down and DPS'ing him the whole time. He doesn't gain his
Incubateur immense
damage reduction buff until he hits the very bottom and starts casting.
Za'qul Nerf
The Za'qul Nerf significantly reduces Tank damage.
Longe mentale
only reflects damage taken by
melees
to the linked target (previously was all damage)
Throughout the entire fight, this will reduce
Longe mentale
damage by about 80%, which is about 20% of overall Tank damage on this fight. Values may differ depending on Tank class and fight length.
Since a large portion of damage on this fight is magic damage, this damage will no longer be reflected through
Longe mentale
.
This also reduces the magic damage burst during
Effroi irrépressible
and
Effroi
on Mythic for your Tanks. 4 Dread explosions with a
Longe mentale
active will now do ~400k pre-mitigation, compared to ~800k magic damage.
When the
Hystérie
debuff started to stack,
Longe mentale
essentially did double damage to your Tanks.
One other interaction to note is that Brewmaster's
Report
caused a negative feedback loop as the damage of stagger was reflected through
Longe mentale
. This reflected damage would be partially added to stagger, which would be reflected, and so on.
As if Brewmaster wasn't already strong enough this tier, this change is even better for Brewmaster than other tanks.
Longe mentale
only reflects melee damage that you actually take. If the damage is dodged, parried or absorbed, then the damage isn't reflected to your other tank.
Brewmasters have
Report
, which
absorbs
the majority of each melee hit, delaying it through the
Report
debuff which no longer gets reflected through
Longe mentale
. This makes the actual melee damage of each hit, very low
In addition, Brewmasters have naturally high dodge chance due to
Maîtrise : Combattant insaisissable
.
All this combined makes Brewmasters even more amazing for Za'qul after the nerfs. It may be even possible to 1 tank Za'qul after this nerfs with a Brewmaster Tank.
