Relic of the Past - Increase the Item Level of Low-Level Crafted Gear in Shadowlands

One of the downsides to crafting armor from earlier expansions is that the gear serves no practical purpose, only useful for transmog. However in Shadowlands, you can add a
Relic of the Past
to low-level crafting armor, greatly increasing the item level so they remain viable for higher-level characters.

Each Relic of the Past can be created with reagents from any expansion by Tailors, Leatherworkers, and Blacksmiths, making it convenient for every Chromie Time path in Shadowlands. They can also be traded and added to any crafted item, making them extremely versatile. Item level 100 gear is on par with Normal mode Ny'alotha, making these items useful for alts at the start of the expansion.

Samadan pointed out
in the latest Economy wrap-up, this system seems a bit buggy on beta. Some items are not affected by relics at all while others scale up slightly, but not as high as advertised.
