Rare Blue Quality Gear Returning to Mythic+0 and Select LFR Raid Bosses in Dragonflight

Alongside the many loot updates coming to raids in Dragonflight, MrGM noticed that gear from base Mythic (+0) dungeons and the first four bosses in Vault of the Incarnates on LFR difficulty are now listed as blue rare quality instead of epic in the dungeon journal.
While seemingly a cosmetic change, this is a departure from the last several expansions,
Although this would seem to differentiate gear earned from lower tier content, it actually looks like an item level cutoff of some sort, which may not necessarily be intended. As seen in the Dungeon Journal, most of Eranog's drops are item level 376 and blue quality, while the

is item level 382 and epic quality. This is in line with yesterday's
Raid Rewards Preview
, in which Blizzard revealed that certain boss loot tables would include an item that intentionally drops at a higher item level than the rest of its loot table. This only applies to the first half of the instance though, as later LFR bosses such as Kurog Grimtotem drop all epic quality and item level 382+ gear, indicating that the quality is simply based on item level rather than the source difficulty.
Note how Eranog drops mostly blue 376 item level gear, while later in the instance Kurog Grimtotem drops all 382 item level epics.
Of course, this is all still a work in progress and subject to change before
Dragonflight launches on November 28th
