While each Profession received its own tweaks and adjustments in Dragonflight, there are some significant changes that were made overall to the entire Profession system as well. We've prepared guides to explain these complex new systems, explaining profession-specific stats, Knowledge points, Work Orders, Recrafting and more.
A flagship Dragonflight feature, Crafting Orders are a new way for Players to provide their services in an Auction House-like setting. The main allure of Crafting Orders is allowing someone besides the Crafter to use a Bind on Pickup item- be it armor, weapons, consumables, or more. Gone are the days of having to have a specific Profession on a specific character to use a specific piece of gear- simply place a Crafting Order, and have someone fill it for you!

Recrafting is a brand new crafting system being introduced in Dragonflight. This process allows you to attempt to craft an item again without having to supply all of the original materials. Instead, you will only have to supply the item you want recrafted, a small portion of materials, and a new material,
. This system will be very important throughout Dragonflight and is available to anyone through Professions and Crafting Orders!
In Dragonflight, a new profession system called Quality is being added to crafting progressions. Quality comes from crafting specializations and is obtained as you progress deep down your Crafting Specialization. As the name implies, crafting something with higher quality means the end result is going to be better. Crafting pieces of gear of higher quality can mean a higher item level or better effects, crafting higher-quality potions means you can get more powerful or additional effects, etc.

Professions now have a Secondary Stat System similar to gear systems Players are already familiar with. Players can now increase their crafting effectiveness with Stats such as Inspiration, Resourcefulness, Multicraft, Finesse, Deftness, and more.
Profession Secondary Stats Explained
Knowledge is a new currency that you will acquire during Dragonflight. These points can be spent in your profession's Specialization Trees to improve your crafting ability. The way you spend Knowledge is very important. While it is possible to learn everything a Specialization has to offer, this system is meant to take a significant time investment to maximize. Because there is no current way to refund Knowledge, choosing starter builds wisely is crucial.
We've created recommended starter builds for all professions so you utilize your early Knowledge Points wisely.

Optional Crafting Reagents
Optional Reagents are items that can be applied to crafted gear and weapons to modify them. These reagents can be added during the initial crafting process or during the recrafting stage. These reagents can be used to select the secondary stats of an item, add bonus abilities to an item, or change the item's overall Item Level.
