Crafting Changes in Patch 10.1 - Primal Chaos Removed and New Sparks of Shadowflame

There are many profession changes coming in Patch 10.1. One big change is that
Étincelle d’ingéniosité
are no longer required as a base reagent when crafting Epic Quality gear, and
Chaos primordial épuisé
will become a legacy item,

. There is also a new group of Optional Reagents to increase crafting gear's item levels.
Epic Crafting Gear Requirements
In patch 10.1, high-end crafting gear will no longer list
Étincelle d’ingéniosité
or
Chaos primordial épuisé
as required reagents when crafting the base item.
Chaos primordial épuisé
are removed completely, and there is a new Spark Optional Reagent slot that allows you to slot in a
Étincelle d’ingéniosité
to produce an item with Season 1 item levels, or a new spark,
Étincelle d’ombreflamme
to produce an item level as high as 447 with the help of a
Écu d’ombreflamme d’Aspect enchanté
.
You are able to recraft these items and replace their sparks and infusions, so players can improve their current Season 1 gear instead of having to craft a whole new item.

New Season 2 Spark
Étincelle d’ingéniosité
will be replaced with the new
Étincelle d’ombreflamme
in this upcoming patch. When crafting,
Étincelle d’ombreflamme
works just like the previous version and can produce an item level between 411-424 on its own. You can add one of the new Enchanted Shadowflame Crests to increase the item level as high as 447.
New Enchanted Shadowflame Crests
In addition to the new Spark, there are 2 new infusions, Shadowflame Crests, that increase the item level of Epic Quality crafting gear. These 2 crests, as well as the
Écu d’ombreflamme de Dragonnet enchanté
and the
Matrice d’entraînement des Titans V
, are all crafted by
Enchanters
. Players will be able to gain the basic crests through different activities and will be able to submit crafting orders to Enchanters to craft these into their Enchanted versions.

Sparks Are Still Required
Despite the UI referencing Sparks as an optional reagent, they are not. Currently, you must have one spark selected in order to craft the item. Players no longer have to farm
Chaos primordial épuisé
, but they will be required to farm either type of spark to continue crafting their epic quality gear.
