BlizzCon 2014 Opening Ceremony
07/11/2014 à 12:59
We have our team at BlizzCon down in Anaheim and some of us are watching the stream at home. We're bringing you the latest and liveblogging the opening ceremony plus the World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, and Heroes of the Storm panels. We'll also be covering all things Overwatch since Blizzard announced its new title this Friday. Be ready to hear tons of news about your favorite titles--and maybe something a little extra.
Make sure to join in the discussion here in this post as if you're watching along on the stream! We're even holding an awesome contest!

They're taking us through old school Warcraft games in the opening, showing us how World of Warcraft came to be.
Morhaime takes the stage, greeting the crowd.
Morhaime just took the time to address
harassment and say BlizzCon is the antithesis of what divides gamers. (Edit: My personal take is he thinks both sides attacking each other is juvenile, but I misspoke when I placed blame solely on GG and I am sorry for letting potential bias come into a liveblog transcription!)
This year is the 20th anniversary of Warcraft and the 10th anniversary of World of Warcraft.
There will be a new pet that will have its proceeds go to Ebola outbreaks and Red Cross.
Heroes of the Storm is coming along great. Jaina will be a new hero as will Thrall; new battlegrounds (Tomb of the Spider Queen); new skins; ranked queues; and the Lost Vikings! Closed beta will be January 13th.
The first Hearthstone expansion will be two races together--one for Horde and one for Alliance. It's Goblins vs. Gnomes and it will be out next month. It's playable at BlizzCon and will have over 120 new cards.
StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void is finally being previewed and they're showing a truly epic trailer. It will conclude the trilogy. It's a stand alone product that won't require the other expansions or base game. The Lurker is back.
Metzen takes the stage to talk.
Overwatch was announced, Blizzard's new series.
Jeff Kaplan will be the new game director of Overwatch.
A gameplay video is being shown. It's clearly a futuristic FPS that's based on controlling objective points. It looks like a blast.
Overwatch will be playable all weekend at BlizzCon and it will be in beta in 2015.
