Gear does not drop from this bag, gear may drop for you in place of the bag. If you do not win a gear roll, you instead get this bag which, so far in my experience, contains 25g.

This satchel is given out whenever you don't win any loot off of a boss in LFR (assuming you are eligible for loot from that boss; you can still only "roll" on loot once per week per boss). It always contains 25 gold and is essentially a consolation prize.

Might be just me, but it would seem that there's less chances of getting a piece of loot now. 5 of my toons did a full run, only two won a single piece of loot even though there are many items that I still require. Previously I usually won 1-3 pieces of loot everytime I ran DS.

A simple consolation prize if you don't get gear off a boss in LFR. Contains 25g, nothing more.

This item contains a small amount of gold, and drops from Dragon Soul LFR bosses 96.9% of the time, based on 2 pieces of gear dropping for 8 full runs, 8 bosses each, for an actual gear drop rate of 3.1%.

I suspect that Dragon Soul LFR, while it can be easily soloed, that by doing so it somehow screws up the loot rates. Others that have run this in groups seem to be having a lot better luck getting gear.

For some reason LFR DS (the "simulated" version that was added in WoD), it seems to work off of the new LFR loot system. This makes no sense, considering back then the LFR loot system worked much the same way that the loot system works for normals and heroics, i.e. loot actually drops and people roll on it.

As of 8.0, this bag still drops off the last boss in The Fall Of Deathwing (I.E. Deathwing himself). A nice little bonus 25g for your run in Raid Finder, as well as the full pull of gear (which, in the legacy loot system, guarantees 4 drops per boss).
