There was a hotfix today that should have made this less "lofty", but I still cannot see how I am supposed to reach by any reasonable means.

This is accessible from the southern most spire, the long thin one. You can walk up from the ground level, no jumping needed.

To get to the Lofty Malygite, you need to walk all the way around the circular rock formation and there is a pointed outcropping where you can click on it. Added a screenshot to help point it out.

After today's hotfix the malygite sometimes is in the right place to be clicked from one of the spires. I would assume that only some of the servers got the hot fix applied and you have to be lucky to get one "correct" instance server applied to.
2 out of 3 of my characters could click it easily, the third was not. I spend some time on another character and logged back and now the crystal moved and I could click it. enjoy your 3 KP.

You are now able to walk the swirling stones around under the gem from the side af the rare mob Ty´foon the Ascended and grab the gem, enjoy :-)

You can reach the item by standing on the tip of the spine as shown in my screenshots. Take your gear off, die underneath, re-enter the cave in ghost form to get the positioning right, then res and click.
