For whatever reason this stuff costs far more gold than its honestly worth, given you can't use it to craft end game PvP pieces of gear, only novice piece of gear. I recently made a BS to be able to make some armor for my main, and wanted to craft the relevant combatant recipes, but I cannot justify sinking the cost required into the crafts currently due to how much they expect you to pay for these currently. Combined with the out of touch cost that blizzard expects you to put into at least making the bars too.
