I was not able to use these while in the Eye of Azshara instance. It kept telling me 'wrong zone'.

They are so useless. You cant use them where you really need them, on dungeons and raids...

Hope Blizzard stop creating items that become useless easily.

As it's not immediately obvious from the tooltip: these act as a standard health/mana restoration food item. As such they can only be used outside combat, and your character must remain seated to eat it. In addition they can only be used in the Broken Isles outdoor zones. They cannot be used in battlegrounds, dungeons or raids.

They restore health and mana considerably faster than conjured mage food or standard food.

In practice they're rarely that useful and I find them not to be worth the bag slot.

For healers, switching specs after an invite to LFG./LFR but prior to accepting and entering the instance, they'll let you mana up in just over 4secs rather than 10+.
