While it is good that we have bacon in the game at last, the benefit of this was not 100% well thought out. For progression raiding, at least, I'd rate this as close to useless.

Why? Because anything and everything goes with Bacon:

Palourdes avariées? Turn that frown upside down with Bacon.
Flanchet pourri? Two words: Flankin' Delicious.
Boyaux & Cervelles? Can't even taste the bowels or the brains with this heavenly add-on.
Délicieuse tortillarde? Worth it.
Kébab de Rat des profondeurs? *Tram* it into my belly please!
Vieux jaune d'œuf? Mmmmm, it's omelet time.
Tartare troll? Time to make a BLT! (Bacon, Lettuce & Troll that is....on second thought hold the lettuce.)
Abats huileux? With bacon, you'll like the cut of this gib...let.

I've found however that my personal pairing dish is Bacon coupé épais. Really seals in the flavor for that bacon-on-bacon goodness.

You need to eat 6 pieces of Bacon croustillant in order to obtain the achievement Exhausteur de goût.

It's worthwhile noting that at present, you CANNOT have any other food buff active (i.e. you won't be taking advantage of the buff extension perk of this food!) for the achievement to be awarded.

If you have another food buff active, eating Bacon croustillant does not grant the buff needed for the achievement - it just extends the buff you already had.

The recipes for this food (Ranks 1, 2 and 3) are obtained from Nomi's Test Kitchen through Work Orders. Tranche de bacon is the only ingredient that will spawn these recipes for you.

All puns and jokes aside, currently the true usefulness of bacon is somewhat limited. If anything, this is ideal for anyone who can make bacon relatively cheap and uses it for questing and world content, still considering you should not die if you do so.

For progression Mythics and raids extending an upon-death-expiring buff is pretty useless and bacon is overpriced due to the achievement. I guess that later into the expansion (and the current tier) it has more use in PvE as you would die less in farm based environments.

Ok so I came late into Legion and so this little sucker stumped me so badly.

This is what is needed:

1) Hit 110 and have world quests open to you. (yep I was pumping mats through Nomi religiously (I had my ipod alarm set when it was due to collect omg right?) until I discovered that you actually need to give him 5x Tranche de bacon to start the chance of learning Recette : Bacon croustillant)
2) scroll around the zones and see if a world quest is up which has the symbol of a chicken drumstick, hover over it it'll be a bacon quest. Go to the world quest and kill the single mob needed to get Morceau de bacon épais (once you loot Morceau de bacon épais you will get x amount of Tranche de bacon sometimes the world quest awards just 5 sometimes 15.
3) give Nomi the Tranche de bacon and hope like hell you're not like me as it took me on my first toon 30 of these before I was awarded Recette : Bacon croustillant (however I'm happy to report on one alt it only took her 10 before she got the recipe & on another 15, so RNG is at play.)

so don't be a me and try and waste materials with Nomi trying to get this, he needs Tranche de bacon which is obtainable via world quests (now having said this wowhead lists that ou can get the slice of bacon via Paquet-cadeau du Bling-o-tron 6000 so there might be a way to get it bellow lvl110... just saying.)

EDIT: just FYI Nomi is a little finicky and can some times give you multiple rank 1 Recette : Bacon croustillant, even after you've reached rank 2 ... it's just how he rolls with this recipe.

4 months, 4 toons with cooking 100+ for Bacon WQs. Farmed said bacon. Siphoned to my main.. 4 months later, still no recipe for Crispy Bacon level 3. y tho?

I would seriously like an Achievement for the amount of food cooked with bacon, please.

Just a small side note: eating crispy bacon WILL override the Winter Veil Cookie stats bonus, AND vice versa.

I found out the hard way. :p
