Scalecommander Sarkareth Strategy Guide - Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible Raid

The boss will cast an Hurlement oppressant, applying a debuff to every player which will enhance one of the boss’s abilities when that player is struck.
Hurlement oppressant can be removed by being hit Désintégration de masse or Souffle incendiaire.
The goal is to remove each players Hurlement oppressant debuff before Intensification scintillante is cast, which will stun the player and deal damage for 12 seconds if the player still has the debuff.
Each time Hurlement oppressant is removed from a player it will trigger an Hurlement résonnant, dealing damage to the whole raid.
Assign a fourth of the raid to clear their debuff with each ability to avoid wiping.

Intensification scintillante

The boss will channel Intensification scintillante for 8 seconds, dealing a large amount of damage to the raid.
All players should have their Hurlement oppressant debuff cleared before this ability is cast.

Désintégration de masse

Squammandant Sarkareth will pick two targets to channel Désintégration de masse into.
Désintégration de masse will mark players with a debuff, then after 6 seconds it will cause their corresponding image to dash to them in a line, dealing damage to anyone in its path.
If a player with Hurlement oppressant is struck, they will become Désintégration, which slows the player by 25% and deals arcane damage every 5 seconds.

Position Désintégration de masse out of the raids path.Souffle incendiaire

Squammandant Sarkareth will cast a frontal attack which deals a burst of fire damage and applies a dispellable dot.

Souffle incendiaire will be cast 3 times in rapid succession.

Players with Hurlement oppressant who are struck will have their debuff removed and gain Calcination, a dot which ticks a low amount of fire damage every second.

Bombe brûlante

Several Bombe brûlantes will be placed near the raid, which will deal damage to anyone standing near them for 12 seconds after which they explode with a Détonation brûlante.

Move away from Bombe brûlantes when they are placed.

Oubli

During Phase 2 and Phase 3, Squammandant Sarkareth will be empowered by the void.
Most void abilities will apply a stack of Oubli to players when they are struck. This stacking dot deals shadow damage over 25 second,
If a player reaches 10 stacks, they will become lost in the Vide interstellaire.
Lost players will need to recover three fragment of their mind within 25 seconds or they will die.
Run through Embrasement astrals to increase your movement speed while recovering the fragment. Ideally try to collect 10 before your debuff expires.

Collect the three marked fragments before the debuff expires.Bombe de Vide

Bombe de Vides will be placed near players, and deal pulsing damage to nearby players for 20 seconds before it explodes with Afflux de Vide.
Afflux de Vide will tick four times for a large amount of damage.
Running over a Bombe de Vide will cause it to attach itself to the player, and explode after a short duration.
Players should pick up both Bombe de Vides when they appear and enter the Vide interstellaire, the Bombe de Vide will fizzle and not deal damage.
Make sure to stay in the Bombe de Vide until the bomb explodes, only then collect all three fragments.
We recommend using the trail left behind by Souffle abyssal when trying to go down with the bomb.

Souffle abyssal

Squammandant Sarkareth will fly about 20 yards to a marked location, dealing damage to players in his path.
Several Lueur vide will spawn at the starting location, which will need to be interrupted and killed.
Lueur vides will attempt to cast Hurlement détonant, which deals damage to the whole raid and interrupts spellcasting.

Fleur de désolation

Squammandant Sarkareth will spawn Fleur de désolations which will pulse damage and apply a healing absorb to nearby players or creatures.
Make sure to move away from them whey they appear.

Puissance d’ébène

Squammandant Sarkareth will empower al allies whenever he casts any spells.
Each stack of Puissance d’ébène increases damage done and movement speed by 15%
At 10 stacks, targets become immune to crowd control and interrupts.

Bombe de Vides should be handled the same way as Phase 2. Dodge Particules d’oubli, as they will apply additional stacks of Oubli.
Players with Particules d’oubli should use Oubli to go down when needed.

Ascension cosmique

This is Squammandant Sarkareth’s special ability, which will cause him to fly away, leaving behind several Lueur vides then crash back down.
When Squammandant Sarkareth crashes back down, he will deal heavy damage in a 30 yards radius so make sure to move out of it.
Each cast of Ascension cosmique will cause Ardeur du Vide, increasing Squammandant Sarkareth’s damage by 10%. This is a stacking buff.
Formation astrales will be pulled onto the platform ,which will continuously deal pulsing damage to players who stand near them.

Barrage rapide

Squammandant Sarkareth will cause several images of himself who will mark players and charge at them in a line.
Marked players should move away from the raid, and unmarked players should avoid standing on lines.

Éternité décapante

Squammandant Sarkareth will cast a massive AoE which will deal lethal damage to players.
This ability can be avoided by standing behind an Formation astrale.
After each cast of Éternité décapante, Formation astrales will becomes unstable due to Éruption astrale.
When an Formation astrale explodes, it will deal some shadow damage and slightly knock players away.

A random players will gain an 8 second debuff, which upon expiration will create a black hole.
When a black hole is created, the player will take massive damage, which can be split with other nearby players by standing close together.
The Black hole will pull in nearby Formation astrales and prevent before collapsing.
Make sure to drop this debuff near Formation astrales, but avoid clearing all of them, as they are needed to hide from the massive aoe.

Phase 1 - Braises mouvantes

Similar to the Phase 3 ability Particules d’oubli, motes of flame will fall from the ceiling which players will need to avoid.
Being hit will knock players away and deal damage.

Phase 2 & 3 - Pression infinie

This is a magic dot applied to one player, which will deal damage to them over 30 seconds.
Each time the debuff is removed, or dispelled it will trigger Effroi, which will deal a burst of the damage the raid and knocking them away.
These debuffs will need to be removed when the raid is positioned well to avoid being knocked off the platform.

Lueur vide

Lueur vides will cast Annulation, which will heal them for 4% of their health every second.
In Phase 2, some of this healing can be mitigated by moving the Lueur vides on top of Fleur de désolations, which will remove the Annulation buff from each add.

Tanks

The tank buster ability will be similar in all three phases.
In Phase 1, Griffes brûlantes will deal a burst of physical damage then apply a 27 second long stacking fire dot. When the dot is removed, all players will take 15% of the total fire damage taken from the dot.
In Phase 2, Griffes du Vide will be similar, with the added effect of reducing the tanks healing taken by 25% for 18 seconds. When the void dot expires, it will deal 40% of its damage to players within 20 yards.
In Phase 3, Trait de Vide will function almost the same as Griffes du Vide, except the debuffs duration is increased to 21 seconds, and the entire raid will be hit by Trait de Vide when the dot expires for 40% of the damage. The raid damage can be avoided by getting 10 stacks of
Trait de Vide is a frontal attack, so make sure to keep the boss facing in a consistent direction.
Always taunt swap after each tankbuster hit.

Healers

This encounter has several abilities that will deal heavy raid damage to look out for.
In Phase 1 Bombe brûlante will deal massive damage to the raid when they explode.
Triggering several Hurlement résonnants can be dangerous when overlapping with additional damage.
Intensification scintillante will deal a lot of raid damage, so it’s best to stack and use healing cooldowns during its channel.
Keep an eye on players who receive a healing absorb debuff from Fleur de désolations.

DPS

Quickly kill any Lueur vides which spawn in Phase 2 or Phase 3.
Pick up 10 Embrasement astrals in each intermission to start the phase with a large haste buff.
Use Bloodlust in Phase 3.

Is there a way to remove Annulation from Lueur vide in Heroic Phase 3 or are you just going to have to nuke them down?

What about Void Claws in Phase 2? I don't see it mentioned anywhere.

All players should stand on Astral Formation to ensure the player with the debuff survives.

Hopefully that's a typo here as standing on any Astral Formation (first and foremost within it's damage radius) is discouraged and not required to make it disappear in combination with Embrace of Nothingness!

Minor correction on the tank section, Phase 3 ability that hits the tanks and can be tracked by the debuff is Void Slash. The void blast is what goes off when the Void Slash debuff times out.

LFR Differences

Phase 1
There is no Hurlement résonnant when Hurlement oppressant debuff is cleared. So the entire raid can clear their debuff with no worry.

Phase 2
No change to the above guide

Phase 3
Bombe de Vide are not present

Formation astrale clear on their own after Éternité décapante

Why when you enter area, 25 people just down into water and some people hit the water and die? Others, (with no buffs) have a safe splashdown. Boggles me.
