Hi everyone. was just gonna check if some warriors here could gimmie a few advices on my current gear. have been arms since wotlk on my warrior alt but have now decided to go tank instead
have always prefered tanking to dpsing dungeons and already have a pala tank and druid tank. so warrior is naturally next :)
Anyways. havent really tanked dungeons besides normal ones and didnt wanna rush in to zan ones unless my gear is "ok" for it

personally i prefer blood craze over deep wounds. although on higher gear levels it doesnt really matter. but when your gear is still rather weak. any extra healing received is a bonus.
but for the rest i agree with skumbanar his dungeon tanking build.

and Porcell math-e-mi-cat-suns @ someone suggesting or even meaning Blood Craze for PvE Prot Warrioring!
Anywho, extra healing is great, but from what I've seen (and done), durability > minor self heals. Yes, I agree that Skumbanar's suggested Prot Spec/Glyphing is great for a nub tank and a veteran alike, I don't really see
Glyphe carbonisé
being better than
Glyphe carbonisé
due to the fact that it isn't too likely that you'll be the one getting the killing blows; I know the snap-threat from TC is pretty epic, but does VR really get used all that often for anything other than Trash and Adds? I could be wrong; I am by no means an experienced Prot Warrior but I'm learning where I can. Some insight on this matter would be welcomed IMO.
P.S.

I was kidding about the
/RAGE
, btw.
Anywho, yeah, so Blood Craze is crap. Even for PvP I think it'd be crap.
But what about VR Glyph versus TC AoE glyph? Is TC AoE more viable over VR in terms of usefulness?

1. Stamina trinket. Not good at all. I am fairly sure anything with mastery/dodge/parry is better than this. Stamina doesnt make you take less damage, it only makes you take more healing.
2. Do the questline in Hyjal and start working on Molten front dailies. First day gives you epic boots and neck.
3. Reforge. Your dodge trinket to mastery.
4. Get rid of dps head/legs/neck/2nd ring.
5. Enchant your cloak with armor.
Mending isnt good at all.
6. Update your glyphs. Devastate, shield slam. Heroic throw not good at all.
Depending on your healer capabilities really. If you get a healer similar to you, you may have problems.
what enchant do you suggest instead? spending 2k gold on a 5th alt enchant isnt really that appealing :)

remove blood and thunder and gag order and put incite and vigilance
he's tanking 5 mans. b&t is one of your best 5-man talents, while incite/vigilance are among your worst. (incite is excellent for raid tanking, though). gag order is ok - i don't use it, but i can see it's value if all you're doing is 5 mans.
the weapon chain is probably your best dungeon tanking enchant.

With the last change and the boost tank got, with a thunderclap every 6 seconds and a shockwave every 17, plus the devastate gliph and some targhet change, he should have plenty of aggro for let the DPS AOE down some 5 istace pull
Your argument holds no water. We aren't talking about threat, we are talking about doing damage. Why would a warrior give up a ton of damage from BnT in order to pick up Vigilance, when Vigilance is completely worthless in a 5 man?
I agree with picking up Incite, since Heroic Strike is a huge amount of damage on single target large mob pulls, killing the final mob of a pull, and on bosses. That's why I advocate the 8/0/31 +2 build. The final two points can go to Cruelty in Fury, or they can go to Gag Order, or Safeguard, or Cblow/Vigilance, but never Impending Victory. GO, SG, C/V, and IV are the 8 talent points that are "optional" out of the 39 total in the Prot tree.
By the way, I don't know if people just don't read the tooltip for Incite, or what, but I see a lot of people skipping it. It's increasing your HS crit chance by 15%, and then doubling it. With a base crit chance of around 6%, the Incite tooltip might as well say "Increases the critical strike chance of heroic strike to 42%." As a tank who is usually flooded in rage and hitting Heroic Strike every 3 seconds (or hopefully every 1.5 seconds for 10 seconds every 30 seconds while BRaged), Incite is an AWESOME damage talent.
