Carbonite is hideous in my opinion. I can't use it.
I use Quest Helper and Lightheaded. Basically QuestHelper just guides me to the general area and keeps track of my progress while Lightheaded supplements the details (like exactly where the cave entrance is, etc. etc.).
I'm not exactly sure how QuestHelper works, but I'm assuming it has a quest database with coordinates it pulls from. All I know is that it works. Its a little finicky in some areas, like when you have to go up trails or around impassable objects. It only points you in a straight line. Tom Tom might use waypoints, which might work better. I'm not totally sure.
I've also never had a problem with memory. My addons total something like 44 mbs and everything still runs fine.

yeah i saw it, but i need to try it.
anyway, i dont use questhelper since it uses up to 40-50 mb of memory. carbonite can do the same things with 7-8 mb. so carbonite wins.
mu UI is all custom-made, and with 13MB (with carbonite and gatherer on) i have all that i need.

Carbonite is awesome because it shows areas where the quest can be done. Unlike QH which just shows you one spot where it can be done but not the surrounding area and Carbonite also has an arrow if you click a box next to the quest, like QH
Incorrect. If you open the map and hover over the icon for the quest, it lights up other areas you can do the quest. Ie. Quests that require you to kill 30 creatures in Nagrand, QH will show you other places where the creatures reside.

Whoa... No way. All of my addons combined (including Lightheaded and QH and at least a dozen others) only pull 40 mbs. Admittedly, QH and Lightheaded are the heaviest, but they still hover around only 7-8 mbs.

okay I have downloaded quest helper and it seems alright. I like the little ant trails on the main map and the arrow pointing me.
My question is though, does the arrow only point to the quest closest to you? Is it suppose to be that way or can you change it?
Are there any functions for it I should know, that help or make anything easier?
To change which quest you want your arrow to track, open the world map and right-click on one of the quest objectives (the little icons), follow the menu and set the priority to either "High" or "Highest".
Note: If you have multiple quests set to the same priority, you might have to downgrade others to get the arrow to track correctly.
You can move the List around by clicking and dragging the little white dash in the upper right corner.
Umm... "/qh settings" for you options and that's really about it.
