I don't know that I would say we want tanking niches. I ultimately am agreeing with what you're saying, but once we say "tanking niches" players have visions of the DK who parks outside of Icecrown until boss 4, 17 and 31 (yes, IC is that big).

Kel'Thuzad (he said he'd be back and his phylactery is still missing.)
Annhylde the Caller.
Bolvar and Saurfang the Younger. (Or for the more skeptical: Immolated and Turned Champions.)
Patchwerk? (Naxx40, Ebon Hold and Nax10/25 was merely a setback, it seems to be a pattern.)
I'm out of idea's. 6-7/31 bosses. Any other suggestions?

Add some Vrykul and Val'nyrs. Mal'ganis probally will show up too. Some from the Scarlet Onslaught(forgot his name), and the list goes on.

Possibly the Val'nyr from Utgarde Keep, who revives Ingvar as an undead, since she has made no appearance in game so far outside of that.
