Echoing what others are already saying, it really feels to me like the discussions that used to be spread over several threads now take place in those news-post threads.
I do wonder though, regarding Patty132471's comment about slightly out-dated threads, if it might be possible to sticky the latest news just for as long as it is the latest - so there's always only one blog-thread stickied.
What scares me a lot about this idea is that it may really make our blog discussions stop--and who's to say a user generated forum thread would promote better discussion? I absolutely love the comments y'all left on my future of WoW post and it's continued for over a week, people posting and ranting and exchanging interesting ideas. But if it were hidden, then wouldn't it be pointless to comment on a blog post like that? I mean no one goes back to blog posts more than a day or two after posting?
Note: not saying it's shot down, just discussing it and explaining why I haven't personally implimented a cap on news posts. Another big reason is that sometimes bigger stories get pushed away by hotfixes or other tiny things.(##RESPBREAK##)2##DELIM##Ashelia##DELIM##

That would make a few people nuts.
DO IT!

The first month I was here, the recycle bin broke randomly.
It was horrifying.
Never forget. Never again.

I don't think you can really take the Recycle Bin out. I think you can take the Recycle Bin chat out of the Recycle Bin thread and put it somewhere else.

To be clear, I'm saying it's a good thing that the spread of smaller conversations is centralised into a single thread. Whether that's a blog thread or a user-made one doesn't really matter.
I'm not suggesting that the non-current blog thread be removed after being unstickied or anything, just that the latest one is stickied (or made prominent in some other way) so that someone visiting WoW General can immediately see what the latest news is.
An extreme example of what Patty's talking about is if someone necrobumped the blog post about Blizzard nerfing 4.1 content. Then someone might go to WoW General and think "OMG! they're nerfing it again?!".
If the latest thread is stickied then it's clear that this isn't breaking news and is just the continued discussion. However all the blog threads will be right there as normal for discussion to continue as long as people have something to say about it.
