Epic Gems and Patch 4.1 (or 4.2)

I have seen some sites with speculation that epic Cata gems could arrive as early as patch 4.1 and I want to put a couple questions out there to see what people think.
Do you think the epic gems will hit with 4.1 or 4.2? (4.1 is predicted for PTR at end of April or mid May)
(For Miners)
Regardless of it being with patch 4.1 or 4.2, would you as a miner start stockpiling Pyrite Ore now so when it does hit you have TONS of it ready to sell for insane gold for the hardcore raiders and jewelcrafters?

Halfway through the expansion probably (presumably that would be 4.2).

Didn't epic gems get implemented in 2.1/3.1 (technically epic gems in Wrath were put in during 3.2. The Stormjewels hardly counted due to their sheer rarity)?

I thought they put in epic gems in 2.4 with the sunwell.

False. There were epic gem mining nodes in the Hyjal raid...

What about the second question:
Do you think its too soon to start stocking up on Pyrite Ore Stacks?
I am trying to decide if it would be more profitable to just sell stacks now or keep them for when stack prices go back up right when epic gems can be prospected.

Epic gems in LK were 3.2 for both alchemy and JC.
I'm not planning on changing my itinerary until I see something on a PTR or patch notes though, because there will be plenty of time to prepare once we know for sure.
Here's what I will do once there is an announcement of epic gems:
1) Stop buying Chimera's Eyes and blue gem cuts to save up tokens for epic cuts
2) Stop selling Truegold transmutes or Truegold bars in the AH. When Alchemists can transmute epic gems, the value of their transmute goes up, therefore the price of Truegold will go up. I will continue to make truegold, I just won't sell it. they go into the bank.
Anything else people can think of to prepare for epic gems?

In Wrath we got epic gems with the third tier of raiding. Firelands is coming out in 4.2 which would make the seconds tier of raiding. I suspect epic gems to be released in 4.2 or 4.3, considering Crusaders Colloseum was a "filler" raid while we were waiting for Icecrown.

Sorry to necro an old thread, but I figured this would be the easiest place to start. Given that 4.3 will be the third (and presumably final - barring something like Sunwell or RS) major content release of Cataclysm, we should expect the release of epic gems, right?

If they are going to come, they pretty much HAVE to come in 4.3.
I kinda expected them in 4.2, and when they didn't drop, I really expected them in 4.3....but I also wasn't expecting Deathwing either.
With so little info on 4.3 so far, its hard to tell. Blizz has kinda tossed the playbook out on how Cata has rolled out so far, so it also would not surprise me to not see any epic gems either.

I've read many rumors and many comments of "it has to be 4.3" for epic gems. I'm assuming it will happen, so am saving Pyrite Ore and JC tokens on the assumption that everything will work the same as it did in the last expansion.
