Posts of the type "I solod this on my 65 frost mage" are generally irrelevant and provide no real help to someone reading the post. Thus these posts are downrated. If you are compelled to make a "solod this" post, then be sure to include detailed strategies for doing so, and maybe link to your build.
You can find some examples of good "how to solo" comments on this quest:

I agree with Arador; if the post has no content other than "I soloed x with my level y z," it serves no real informative purpose on Wowhead and appears to be nothing more than useless e-peening. Nobody really cares
that
you did it, they care
how
you did it! Try to be as informative as possible in all quest-related comments and it'll make Wowhead a happier place! :)

I solod this thread at lv3 warlock, pretty ez 2 do guyz.
I don't downrate any comments unless they're incredibly horrible, but I do understand why people downrate "I DID THIS!!!!!" comments. Without any tactical explanation, it's just a ++epeen post.

From
my guide on commenting for Wowhead
:
Soloed by
: Unless your comment contains a detailed explanation of how you defeated a mob, these comments do not add anything to the page. Simply stating your level, class, and that you soloed the mob by using a few skills is not enough to be useful.

Soloed this thread as a 70 Lolock, tanked with Voidy, took no damage. Dots + fear = win.
That comment would receive a negative mod from me.
To further clarify, simply listing the spells you used in soloing a mob does not qualify as a "detailed explanation". If the path to defeating a mob is not outside of the normal method of doing things, the comment becomes useless.
Boss fights are a great example where strategy is great. Complicated stategies are always welcome. Likewise, if you have a complex strategy for soloing a mob that typically takes several people, it can receive positive ranking
given that your strategy is unique and detailed
.
When in doubt, check out my guide. I also idle in the IRC channel, so anyone looking for advice can hit me up there.

I usually downrate any "soloed by" comment that includes anything like "used X spell to kite mob to X town" or generally any references to kiting or guard killing.
A lesson on kiting isn't necessary or exclusive to any particular mob and unless there is some unique strategy other than your standard kite it doesn't add any useful info.
Also, if guards killed it...you didn't solo it ;)

I want to stand up for describing kiting strategies. To reveal my deep dark secret, I had never kited anything until this comment on
this quest
:
The Legionnaires can be kited to Garadar where they will be attacked by the lvl 70+ guards.
Note: they can ONLY be kited if you first kill the Fel Canon they stand by.
Send pet in aggro canon, kill canon then recall pet. The Legionnaire will follow. Keep running and jump shooting Concusive Shot (to slow him down) and Serpent Sting (to damage him). When appraoching bridges, where a jump shot could result in a long fall, drop a Frost Trap to slow him down.
Hopefully by the time you get to Garadar the sting would have done enough damage for you to claim the kill before the guards slaughter him. Make sure to keep attacking while guards are pounding on him though.
I tried it. It worked. I was so happy I did it several more times. I have now learned an essential new skill, making me a better hunter.
I'm really glad this comment hadn't been downgraded into oblivion!

I don't find them useless at all. Often the first thing I do when I get a group quest is I check here to see if they are soloable. Even a comment saying someone solo'd something is useful to me to know it can be done.
