/sigh ok as someone who was in a hardcore raiding guild pre-TBC I dont see what these guys are crying about. Just because Blizz removes the attunements dosen't make any of these raids any easier when you get into them. You still need to be in a guild that has enough well geared MTs,Off tanks, healers,Dps, etc. or you wont even make it past the trash. Im just tired of these "OMG the world is going to End because Blizz did this!" post. Guys its a game some of you take it way too seriously, At one point in time I realized that I had that problem and cut back to a more reasonable play time . I think its time some of you need to play a little less and get out and enjoy some real life things. Its a game, its not real, you gold isnt real, nor is your equipment. If this game makes you get that upset maybe its time to move on and do something else trust me Blizz isnt going to miss you they have nine thousand casual players to replace every one hardcore they lose because they get paid by the month not by the hours you put in.
You're not allowed to post sanity or reasoning on the internet. Go sit in the corner for 10 minutes and think about what you did.
(Seriously though, great post. To paraphrase Fight Club: "You are not your epic flying mount.")

to all the whiners about lowering: attunement and all other stuff that makes the game a bit easier and more playable to a larger group....
you're just jealous that you had to do all that work and see that now others get it a lot easier...
lolz for the ppl that actually have to work during the day, and can only spend about 2 or 3 hours a day to play, it wouldn't be fair either...
i want a
limit of everyone's playtime
, so
we all are the same and such balanced...
!!!!
that's what the whiners are saying, only the opposite if you think about it (of both statements)
don't flame me about this, it's just a fact

Nicely put. Oh no, I don't have to run 6-10 quests that don't really help gear me for KZ (especially since you only have to fully run one instance and can get the second and third key frags without encountering a single boss). Suddenly I can get into KZ, woo! Oh, wait... I still got my ass handed to me by Moroes because I'm undergeared...
Let's all be irrational about this and start screaming that we want the game tailored for us and only us - because that's what this really is all about. The casual gamers don't want the elitists to be able to talk down to them, and the uber-leet 10-hours-a-day-in-Azeroth don't want anyone less leet than them to play in their sandbox. Let's just make it so that no character can be logged in more than 3 hours a day, and wow, level playing field.
That's just a stupid argument. If you don't have time to play the game to the extent hardcore players do, it's nobody's problem but yours. You shouldn't expect the game to revolve around you because of it.

Wow, isn't it amazing how easily a completely specious argument can be turned around on you?

not all of us have 6 hours a day to dedicate to playing a game.

Again, it's Econ 101. Blizzard makes the same money off my 2-3 hours a day as they do off someone else's 7-8, so it's silly for them to make the game so hard as to discourage the casual gamer in favor of their hardcore clientele. Yes, it stinks that they may be alienating some of their most loyal customers, but that's the way things go when running a business.
They dont have to worry as much about the hardcore players just "quitting". They have too much too lose at stake and too much time invested in WoW.
The casual players on the other hand can usually just pick up and leave without a second thought.
Hardcore players are the slaves of WoW who no matter how much slapped around, have a waaaayyy less probability of leaving.

I hadn't thought about this but it's very true. My first MMO was City of Heroes; I played it on a much more casual basis than WoW, but I didn't like the direction they were taking it so I didn't have many qualms about leaving for another game.
WoW has converted me into something I like to call a "casual hard core" gamer. I try to play for a couple of hours every night, extended sessions on the weekends, and I'd have a
much
more difficult time leaving World of Warcraft than I did CoH.

The heroic keying could have been handled differently, to help those with alts. For example: if one of your characters reaches revered with a reputation and receives the heroic key, any of your other characters on your account can receive the same key.
The same would apply to Karazhan attunement. If one character receives the key, your other characters can enter. They will still need a key to open the door or someone to open it for them, though.
I agree that some of the boundaries implemented were limiting a casual enjoyment of the game, but others were in place for a reason. Lengthy 25-man raid attunements (Hyjal, BT, etc) ... not necessary. At that point in the game, the difficulty of the dungeon is enough of a "check." The Kara and Heroic "attunements" were not overwhelming in comparison and showed you possessed more than a layman's understanding of 5-man dungeons and your character overall.
