People don't want to wipe, and no one wants to carry pugs.
Most likely than not, you wouldn't want a green/blue lock in your VoA group if you're tanking on t9 geared paladin. Checking gear gives a rough estimate of performance, there's nothing wrong with that.
Back when I was a healer (dps now) nothing %^&*ed me off more than wiping on enrage timer with full raid up. It ^&*!es off tanks as well. Someone making a dumb mistake is better than just not having enough dps at all.
Don't forget VoA groups with good healers usually run with only 2 of them. They would rather carry a low-geared healer than dps... it would make their jobs easier.
I don't know though why they would pst you afterwards, that is rude. Saying 'sorry not geared enough /kick' is fine though - don't do content you're not ready for.

Voa seems to draw angry players like bees to a bowl of sugar. Everyone argues, yells, and if a pug downs a boss you can bet your account there will be severe loot drama over every single piece that drops.
But prot is my main specc im not really ret! And so is holy! Even on pvp gear people will claim certain lootrights too based on their actual mainspecc..
That you manage to survive because not standing in fire and being top on damage done has no relevance, the dps is most important! 3,4k during 100% of an encounter is worse than 4,5k during 15% You have naxx or ulduar10 pieces? Thats not proper epics!

@OP: Nobody wants to lose a potential upgrade to a scrub who can't pull their weight. In other words, stop expecting people to carry you through an instance that is beyond your gear level. Gear is so ridiculously easy to get these days, run a few heroics and nab some T8.5... Boom, problem solved.

No one likes to carry dead weight. Koralon is a semi-gear check (bring a couple of dps in blues and your probably screwed)
To the OP: Doesn't matter if your main is a T9 geared prot pally, what your bringing is your under geared alt. Considering how you can get T9 without raiding either, its nothing much to brag about. If you have to ask why people in a raid environment dislike carrying undergeared people it makes me wonder if you've ever raided before........ If you want to gear your alt quickly, that's what guild alt runs are for. If your guild doesn't do alt runs, then be prepared to face rejection from pugs that don't want to carry you. Its completely their right to say "no you suck too much".

Oh, so sorry to upset you by not having enough people for 25 mans. Sorry to for not wanting to deal with the bull@#$% for only a few more iLevels. And sorry ever so much for not doing more than 3k DPS at every second of every fight.

as a 7k dps lock i would suggest you to stop trolling.
Who gives a %^&* about your DPS? OP asked for an answer to his question, and I gave it to him. Nobody wants to gear your little alt, and nobody gives a flying &*!@ who your main is. If you aren't going to be a useful contribution to a raid (read: Pull 3k DPS, which any retard in welfare epics can do) then go run heroics or something. 3k is NOT much to ask, seeing as a week of heroic farming can get you in full iLvL 226 Epics.

Good players know that you dont need t9 to run such a faceroll instance. Ignore the ones who give u alot of elitist !@#$ because tbh they arent worth it and are normally very far from being in the category which would give them some room for bragging about their gear.
Id suggest usng your guild to set up VoA runs for your mains and alts sperately. that way no one has to pug if they dont want to. Me and my guildies did this and we managed to down koralon with a raid group where none had any loot from above iron council in ulduar10.
The key to PuGing succesfully is dont PuG imo
