The hint is hinting that the Horde takes some of the Saronite from Icecrown Citadel after we defeat the Lich King (because, you know, his entire *!@#ing fortress is made from it.)

It's very likely to be saronite. Lore-wise; It's an extremely resilient substance, turns black (usually) when forged properly, and, if the Zul'Drak thing is an indication it can also absorb magics.
Gotta remember too; only reason people went insane from the stuff was because Yogg-Saron whispered in the ears of the miners.

"The
black blood of Yogg-Saron
courses through me! I...AM...UNSTOPPABLE!" -Vezax
Vezax says its black.
Many things have different colours as a fluid than they do as a solid.
Though saronite is often referred to directly as the black blood of Yogg-Saron, despite being obviously green. Whatev'
It could also be that the black blood is (omgwtf) a bit like saronite ORE. So it's black, and the saronite you salvage from it is green. Which is possible, copper is reddish and copper ore (the real stuff, not the WoW stuff) is commonly found in shades of green.
