Some guilds did runs in those instances for fun/discovery, but appart from that nobody went back there, they are basically deserted.
It'll probably be the same for WotlK, which doesn't mean that you shouldn't raid at all in my opinion.
Some encounters and instances are fun to see, so do whatever you can before WotlK arrives and don't regret switching to the new content afterwards.

like a heroic version for raids instead of instances only, that'd be awsome!

Afaik from reading on wowwiki, they are planning Naxxramas 2 as the first level 80 25 man raid, which will essentially be a reworking of naxx to tune it to lvl 80 and wotlk gear. (

) I also heard, not really from a credible source though, that alot of the old original wow raids will be redone in wotlk.

Aye, I saw this thread & immediately thought "That's why they're redoing Naxx," as so many players seem to want to trash the idea already.
People forget many key philosophies in design & the main one concerning this thread is
accessibility
.
World of Warcraft has been & always will be accessible to the widest audiences possible. This means leaving content, in one form or another, for players of the base game & each expansion afterwards.
Forcing players (particularly ones unable) to participate in end-game raid content in mandated progression would only detract from & distort their vision of how the game should be played.
If you want to form up a guild & can find players like you to do it, you have that freedom. This is one of the founding principles of implementation used in current and future expansion releases.
There are methods & workarounds, even solutions to certain dilemmas that arise with any expansion in order to keep all content, new & old alike, fresh and available. This movement is being exemplified by the constant "numbing" to the time table. Dungeon attunements simplified, heroic keys easier to obtain, the list goes on.
I always viewed it wasn't my job to come up with the methods for change, I'm not the one being paid by customers to continue work & deal with the issues at hand. Nevertheless, I do believe they can & probably will eventually revamp the old world raids, possibly with a system similar to the Heroic mode difficulty. This is in addition to, in all likelihood, retuning the dungeons prior to Naxx for 25-players to fit the new format.
EDIT
: It should be noted, if or when retuning these dungeons such as the Molten Core to the 25-player format, it would be a dire mistake to remove or replace it as a level 60 instance. Likewise for all other raid dungeons with the exception of Naxx, which directly correlates with the upcoming content & was very inaccessible previously.

Signs say yes, raids will still exist in Outland (Kara too). Since Kara is a beginners raid, it is a to-do on raiding guilds. Also recently i was playing a new alt. (A shammy) and some group did UBRS (Based on the fact that I got Warchief's Blessing from people killing Rend Blackhand there). So Burning Crusade raids in WotLK is not out of the question just yet.

d3v1lish:
I agree with you overall on your assessment, there is one thing that everyone seems to be forgetting:
There are still new players & old alike who do not have access to The Burning Crusade yet.
Now, before the flames commence "QQ get TBC you so poor...blah blah," I would like to say that perhaps some players would actually like to progress into the next expansion, instead of being force-fed 20 new levels to finally make it to the end-game.
Keeping the game from becoming stale & obsolete is critical to the longevity of WoW. I'm 100% positive Blizzard understands this & are working on the sidelines to address these issues.
If you don't throttle the path from 60-80, it's going to eventually catch up after WLK & there won't be an expansion every year-ish as planned. The very facts that most of the above wish to re-live these dungeons provides enough basis for re-tuning & converting the old dungeons to the highly developed 25-player format.
We're in for a real treat when WLK comes; the current expansion is just a shining example of Innovation 101. I can't wait to see it put to the test.
