Since when do you play druids? Druids have been FOTM 3 times in the history of WoW
Patch 1.8, TBC release and season 2.

Regarding playing a class that becomes FOTM, there isn't really much to do there except wait it out. I've stayed with my druid as main in the last 4-5 years and will stay with him for the foreseeable future. That being said, i stay with my moonkin spec whereas it's mostly feral and resto that became "OP" (enough for FOTMers at least). Play well, your circle of friends shouldn't forsake you just because your class representation rises, so it should all be good. (ie the stupid other does might not reach lvl 80 and if it does it shouldn't affect you overly unless you pug a lot)
If you don't want to wait it out, you basically have to change main each time it becomes OP, which happens cyclically to everyone.
That being said, this type of FOTMers is going to be different than the usual type : those who are interested in nice skins rather than just being OP for a PVP season or whatever. They might not play better (maybe even worse), and they'll probably stay for longer unless they really aren't compatible with the class. Still not much to do there.

FotM because of a new skin? What better can happen to the class?
We will get tons of players that don't want to be "uber l33t pro badazz", meaning that all the kids will stay with their DKs. We will get more mature players that actually care and want to develop their character in a unique way.

Remember how infuriating it was without cat form, hopefully this will deter the less patient.

You are going to see a lot of feral DPS druids running around. Probably not so many will choose to be tanks. I wouldn't worry too much. You can still set yourself apart by being competent.
/agree -- The one constant throughout my experience as a feral druid is there is a
CLEAR
dividing line between the skilled and unskilled players (ref. Mangle Spam or a Lv 80 with Claw on his Bar). So while druids may become FotM insofar as the number of players may drastically increase -- The number of SKILLED players (or at least the percentage) will likely stay constant (and small).
A
skilled
druid will never be the FotM, and a large pool of unskilled players only makes the skilled stand out more.

QFT. Skill > gear, Skill > looks.

well I usually roll a class because I like it regardless of how popular it is, it just so happens that I decide to finally make a druid right before this up date and he's the same color as the forms I like so I lucked out ^_^.
