I had 0 knowledge about this incident, but no matter what, Racism will always exist. It's the sad truth.

Careful with the questions. Although I believe the topic is a good one, it is a very tender one. Let's ease into this discussion please, and thank you. =)
Kudos for the thought out thread, btw.

Crowley is the victim in this one. According to the story, he was merely acting out of police conduct, and Gates, in my opinion, is shaming all black people for using racism as an excuse to dodge the law. The governor and the president wanted to make the news and come out looking good.

if u see a white man with a small brown bag, you think it's beer.
if u see a black man with a small brown bag, you think it's a gun
if you see a white man with a shot gun, you think he's putting his gun away..
if you see a black man with a shot gun, you think he's gonna shoot you..
Actually I don't think any of those things.

the police didn't know. but should pay for their bad judgement
The police came because someone was breaking into a random house. If Gates had taken the time to explain the situation instead of
verbally assaulting a police officer
, it might have gone another way.

police listens to black people? -__-
See, now you're making yourself look like an idiot. You assume that just because Crowley is a police officer, he's racist. That's just like assuming a guy is poor because he's black.

there's more to the story than just words... i'm pretty sure more stuff went down...
what would provoke him to call the police officer racist.... -__- did you think that far?
He was too easily offended? He has the idea in his mind that all white people (especially police officers) are racists? He wanted to dodge the law? We are working here with the information that's given us, and, according to that information, the sergeant did nothing wrong.

Yes, I'd believe it. Because there is no way for the know that 2 teens started the fire, I'm sorry, but I'm not psychic. And you're right, he is a man of status, now if he is a man of status, how come we don't see his version? Surely a Harvard professor has the money and means to make his story into the paper. You're also forgetting about the
entire department
of Sgt. Crowley, that is backing him up, for having worked with him and know that he is not a racist. And I'm sure that department isn't made solely of white, Caucasian men.
