4.) Mammoths

Lol! I remember when owl/moonkin were beasts and not humanoids. Was sooo disappointed when I tried to tame one and it wouldn't let me ^_^;

Kodo. My god was I dissapointed on my trial account tauren hunter when I got that "cannot be tamed" error message =(
I think racial pets would be awesome! Each hunter race having one pet that only they can tame. Of course, it couldn't be too powerful, or affect endgame or pvp too much. But a Tenacity pet would be perfect, provided it didnt have an awesome PvP ability.
So maybe:
Kodo for Tauren, with a "tail swipe" sort of like a bear swipe
Hydra Draenei? Give them a venom of some type, keep it similar to a scorpids
Rams for dwaves, with "headbash" similar to a crosolisk's snapback
Basilisk for Belfs? I would love to say a "stone gaze" ability, but that could be too useful in pvp. Maybe if it only worked like a crab's pin.
Zhevra for trolls? With a "fleeting dash" that works like a warp stalker's ability
I cant think of one for orc or nelf, unless hydra go to orcs and draenei get something new.

Perhaps it would be nice if vanity pets got a game-effect. A buff to the hunter or the pet, or perhaps an attack (depending on the pet). A skunk could get a 'fear' effect. The rabbit could have a critical attack to the neck. A dragon would breath fire/ice/whatever. The penguin would shoot red lasers from it's eyes.
Can you just imagine the screams of 'unfair!' from all those people who thought collecting vanity pets was silly. :-) :-)
Just like those people who didn't sign up for the 'brew of the month'-club because at the time they didn't know it would be beneficial. Oh, amusing days.

After the release of wotlk it saddened me not to see kodos implemented as exotic pets :( my top 5 goes as such:
1. Kodo (also considered as Lizard dinos)
2. Basilisks, petrify is such a cool skill, still dont get why they werent implemented :S
3. Most animals in general that are considered beasts and neutral (Rams, deers, Sick Gazelle(jk), zhevras and etc.)
4. DRAGONS! how i love thee
5. Scarabs :P always wished having a pet look like the insects of ahn quiraj :P
petrify would prob be OP in pvp?

I always wanted to see Basilisks as pets, but yeah in pvp especially it would cause problems, grab one of those gazers in the shimmering flats that have like a 13sec sleep spell and ^&*!@ing will erupt to no end.
