One thing I think that would be super awesome, would be the ability to integrate the Wowhead Profiles into websites and forums for a more seamless experience, like the tooltips.
I'm wondering if this has been discussed or implemented anywhere. If anyone knows?
Chris.

I've been searching everywhere for any indication that something like this either exists or is in the works. Having integration modifications for different CMS and forum software would be awesome. Users just have to enter their region, realm then character name when registering then, for example in IPB3, they have a profile tab which shows their stats, items and a 3D flash view of their character.
Anyone?

I've kind of slapped together a rough system that I'm happy with for the moment. The only modification I came across that worked like I wanted it to, and had a very nice appearance, is the wow-armory wordpress plugin, which really seems to be the only type of its kind around, for any platform. So I've integrated it with my portal and have a manually created guild roster through the forums. It's a lot of work for what it is, but it's nice

OMG.
OTOH, that's a really slick main page design. I like that.

The benefits of editing a live site! :D
Currently trying to get
this WoW item tooltip
mod working but it conflicts with a lot of the other javascript present within IPB. It's probably why out of all the forum software out there, it doesn't have a mod dedicated to it. MEH!
The site is fine now, I've stopped tinkering

I used to administer an ancient IPB board with several thousand users. It was dodgy at best and incomprehensible at its worst :). I feel your pain.

Oh no, I love IPB. I think it's far superior to phpBB, vB and SMF. v3.x is brilliant, overshadows the other contenders like a god. It's a pleasure to use. I've always thought so, even for v2.x.x

God knows what this one was. I don't even remember. It was set up almost 10 years ago, though.
