You use your warlock faq as an example of linking to a post by the date thing, but your faq doesn't exist anymore. Just thought I'd point that out.

asakawa
thanks for letting me know about that.

ASAKAWA!
Anchors!
? How do they work!
?
On a more serious note: I really cannot figure out how to use the anchors. Could you provice a more detailed explanation? Thank you ver much (in advance ofc =P).
Post by
asakawa
basically you put an anchor into one of your posts using anchor tags like \
you can then link directly to that point in the thread and specifically within your post by linking to \
link
eg.
link
examples can be found in the index of this thread. the main body of info is all in the first post but you can use an index to link to each individual section using anchors. this negates the need to plan FAQ type threads into a series of separate posts to organise the info into linkable sections.
note(!) though that if you want to link to anchors from somewhere outside the thread you have to use the full thread link so instead of simply "#anchor" you need to use "ht

ww.wowhead.com/forums&topic=164720
#anchor
"
giving you links like:

I might be doing it right?
Edit: Yes I am!
Woot, thanks for the tip asakawa. My problem was I didn't realize that (this was an 1D10T error to the max) you had to set the anchor in the post.
Herp derp.

Congratulations on your great success and triumph! :)
This is, indeed, a helpful thread. I'll need to check if you guys have access to more stuff - there are quite a few things in our markup :)

it would be great if you could check to see if we're still missing anything, thanks.
(also, koper mentioned that \ has "since", "until" and "server" attributes but i've still not been able to work out (or cajole one who knows into explaining) how "server" would be used. if you're able to shed light on that it would be most welcome)
