Finished the book...yeah it's going to be up there with Dresden and Codex :D Already looking forward to the next book. I love the characters in it; especially Rowl the Cat, who is like Mister except in this verse, people can actually learn to speak Cat so he's a voiced character.
So, like Oberon in the Iron Druid series; but as a cat? Cool.
I had heard a lot of mixed reviews about the Codex, but I am definitely interested in the Windlass.
Let's see, I have finished something like thirty books since February. I had a lot of catching up to do, and a bit of travel time - airports layovers are a good place to read. Mostly I have been reading the books my wife is into so that we can discuss them.
Finished all of the Charley Davidson series (10 novels, 3 shorts) - quite funny, like Dresden if he was female, and even snarkier. Interesting, and a decent story, but the constant references to the male character hotness are grating. (and yes, it bothers me when male writers do this to their female characters, also)
Finished all of the Fever series so far(10 books); these are definitely different, and the story is very interesting; but if you dislike characters that are stubborn and take forever to figure out what's painfully obvious from Chapter 1 - you may want to skip these.
The latest Iron Druid was excellent. This series just keeps getting better.
Also finished the last few of Laurel K Hamilton's Anita Blake. Again, this series is interesting, but the last four or five are so obsessive about sex and the 'relationships' that the story gets lost.
Star Wars: Aftermath was a decent book. I really enjoyed getting into that universe in a way that didn't revolve around the Jedi, Boba Fett (a highly over-rated character IMHO) or the Solo family at all.
I also re-read Foucalt's Pendulum after the death of Eco. Such an amazing story-teller. I thoroughly liked his books.
Books on deck : Seveneves, the next Star Wars book, and probably the Aeronaut's Windlass.

I honestly love Codex; it is well written, has a solid driving plot and come on...he wrote is a dare, to prove that it is the writing not the idea that makes a book, and mixing the Lost Roman Legion with Pokemon.

Pretty much any books by Kathy Reichs, producer and writer for Bones (tv show).
I also read sometimes autobiography of my favorite actors/actresses/singers/etc, but barely.

So due to the power of TVTropes found a 'new' series; the Dinosaur Lords. It's about a world of humans that well...shares it with dinosaurs. The best thing though? Dinosaurs have for the most part been domesticated, so you have knights riding things like Hadrosaurs, Allosaurus and T-Rex's into battle, while they use Triceratops like elephants, have Deinonychus being used as hunting animals and lots of fun things like that.
The first book Dinosaur Lords set up the world and the main characters while the second book Dinosaur Knights goes into a deeper exploration of just what exactly the true main threat on the world is.
The blurbs call it a cross between Jurassic Park and Game of Thrones which is accurate. It's an enjoyable read and I would recommend them, and the third book is out this year.

I just recently began to read The Wheel of Time. The pacing could be better, but the first book so far has been pretty good.

Can it be June yet lol? Starting to re-read the Shannara books since the end of the verse four book series is starting then....cannot wait to read the first book, as Brooks has said that there are going to be a lot of call backs to old artifacts that haven't been seen for a long time.

I started Jim Butcher's "Dresden Files" series a few days ago, and they're the first books in a while I've enjoyed so much I find them difficult to put down. I also recently read Nat Russo's "Mukhtaar Chronicles" series, which to me has a tint of WoW-like flavor to it, without reading like a rip-off. Good stuff.
