WoW won't end until...
1. Humans + Dwarves have regained control of all of the Eastern Kingdoms. Gnomes get Gnomeragen back
2. Elves + Humans have taken control of all Kalimdor.
3. Humans take control of all Northrend.
Arthas is just a speed bump in 'Manifest Destiny'.
I think you've forgotten the Horde here.
Also, as an Elf I'll never let the Humans lay their dirty paws on all of Kalimdor.

All of thse all true.. yet I don't believe anyone has mentioned Uldum! The broken door in southern Tanaris, guarded by Stone giants.. possibly end game content for an upcoming expansion. Don't believe me then check it out for yourself. Before Wrath the door was not broken, but now you can go there and see that there is in fact a huge hole in the middle.. odd isn't it.

Even WoW2 can't kill WoW.
WoW will live for years more.
Once WoW2 comes out, probably couple of years from now, it will require better hardware most likely. Most people will jump over from WoW to WoW2, and it's likely WoW won't have any more expansions at that point.
Still some will keep playing WoW, maybe because they can't let go of their level 100 toons, or maybe because they are so scared of change. Possibly because they can't afford better hardware, or the game itself.
So the WoW servers will run for few more years after that point, collecting cash.
At some point, blizzard will shrink the number of servers so that people who stayed instead of leaving for for WoW2 or other games, don't find themselves sitting alone on a server. Those few servers may run until the remaining customers die from natural causes or cost of electricity is more than the monthly fee.
Just look at other blizzard games, surely there is still a large player base playing diablo 1.
