4 times tanking is not enough practice. It takes a long time to cycle effortlessly through mobs and every run is a unique experience due to new players, new classes, different equipment levels.
It's not your job to make sure that DPS can go balls to the wall on any mob at any time. Mark the targets, focus on the main mob, and keep your aoe abilities flowing. Unless they are just AoEing right off the bat, that should be enough. And if you are having trouble with a DK, try tanking it with a warrior. Then you'll know the frustration that is AoE tanking.
I am now up to BF now and it is not enough. If it was I would not be here asking for help.
I am not having trouble per say I just want to do better.
My first time tanking was on my Lock.
What! Lock taking? - see here

As a lock trying to tank I had good fun. Yet, had NO AoE threat. So warriors have nothing on a Lock-Tank as far a AoE threat trouble. Grate cc is the only way to Lock-Tank.
Note: NO, locks are not real Tanks! Locks can not replace them but, it can work.

Lol...you said "tanked 4 times, I have practice:"
I read that as 4 times tanking it was enough practice.
And I don't really know how to respond about lock tanking...

Then you shuld look at the link! there is a link on the thread I linked that explayns why locks can 1/2 tank (post there though, not here)

Wow, I was tanking SP and I now hate Fear! I have now learned to get cc or interupts on all the caster then kite the other mobs Way Back! So, you do not to pull 5-Zillion adds.
Also, if you mess up your rotation when you first pull, aggro is out the window because DPS will not wait for you.
After 4 wipes(I was low level for the run) , with a broken belt and most of my gear in the yellow, some defense rating gear dropped. My first peace of def. gear and a hunter accidentally rolled need. He won, grr!

IDK, DPS makes things fun in there own special way. lol
Yet, as a UH DK Tank I really like mages and locks.
I PUGed with a Druid-Tree, 2 mages, and one lock. With my AoE threat gen with there AoE dps i did not need to mark a kill order.
The lock was demo and had a Felgard who made a good OT. If i could not pick the adds his charge + tant can hold aggro on that mob. The lock can even help heal his Felgard with this own DPS.
The mages sheep rock as it tacks the edge off the spike damage if the pull is going to be rather large. good mages will frost nova mods they pull aggro on, locking them in place then move out of melee range. This can keep them alive and make it easer for me to get to the mob. (bad ones try to kite the mobs)

The mages' sheep rocks!
As it tacks the edge off the spike damage if the pull is going to be rather large -- good for under geard tanks.
Sheep also means less mobs to think about -- grate for noob tanks.

Grr, New Tanking Trouble.
Adds...
When we have adds go for the healer, I spend my time running after them trying to pull aggro.
I am normally standing on DnD but when run to the healer all the mobs get moved off it. So maybe I should have the healer stand closer too me so I can just switch to my AoE TPS rotation?
What can help give me more time? I do not have Death command yet.
How about cc? I could set up a raid warning to “CC Adds!"
How do you deal with adds?

In fights where the mobs don't aoe but do call in adds the healer should come stand in your dnd, problem solved. If it isn't safe for the healer to be standing on you (aoe/cleave mobs) and it only calls in a couple adds, then your dnd needs to be between where they spawn and where the healer is so they get caught in it before reaching the heals.
As to class/specs that synergise well with dk's, generally you'd look for ones who benefit from your horn of winter and/or bring you buffs. Good examples would be ret paladins, you buff them they buff you. You buff up most melee dps and hunters. Aside from that look at all the buffs that classes bring such as fortitude, mark, totems, etc. Another thing to bear in mind is whether they will buff your healer (thats never a bad thing) So having a class that brings replenishment or heal-enhancing buffs is a + for you as well in the long run.
Just a matter of personal opinion here but I truly believe one of the best things a learning tank can have is a GOOD hunter on their team. Misdirect can save many a poorly made pull or make difficult pulls cake to do and smart emergency trapping can save a healer in the line of fire. For many hunters finding a tank that has taken the time to learn enough about their class to understand how useful they can be and utilize their abilities is a pleasant surprise too :)

I am respecing frost
Also Caster pulls, I will LOS them when I can. Yet, In some places I need to move the mobs but LOSing is available
I find it hard to tank mobs where Blizz puts them. Pats , fears, melee dps, pets, totems, they all can be a problem when your are not tanking mobs in the right place. I normally try to move the mobs back a good ways.
I would all ways mark caster A as "skull", caster B as "x", and if there is a caster C i will mark him with "diamond".
I then put down DnD where i want to tank, strangulate x, switch to skull and DG. I have some one designated to put a silence on diamond as right after I silence “x”. Doing that gives me aggro on all the mobs but diamond. Then, I have the silencing person run to me after they silence so diamond is pulled into DnD. Every one knows not to attack diamond so I can easily get aggro. Once I have aggro, I will take the diamond off. I have the markings keybond to make it go smoother. I can taunt diamond if I need to. If there are more caster mobs than 3 I will mark more mobs for silence. It just takes a lot of trust when you are PUGing!
For 3 casters pull that normally dose it. I find it safer to move mobs Vs, tanking the mobs where the Blizz puts the mobs. It was just harder as unholy do to the time delay with aggro and would some times end with a dead DPS.
So as frost would this AoE rotation should be to pull aggro on the "diamond" mob before the DPS is smashed to pulp?
DnD > stranglate "x" > DG skull >
HB > BB > BB -- FS, as RP dump (maybe on diamond)
repeat with HB > BB > BB -- FS
How do you handel large caster pulls when you can not LOS?
