I think the point of this thread is that some of us like using a sub spec from time to time. Mut
is
effective but I don't want to be mutilate all the time. I like trying out other specs too. There's some things in sub that really help out even though the overall convenience is pretty low. Still though..it's a nice alternative to the common mutilate build and it can
really
catch a lot of people off guard.

What Blizz needs to do is give sub some nice energy regen talents that combat and assassination has and boost up Hemo for abit and i think it'd be a good contender :)

You are a mutilate rogue whos significantly stronger in stealth, yet significantly weaker out of it - meaning you rely even more on your cooldowns.
You get nothing more from being sub than that
, all the lowered cds and cc you mentioned a mut/prep rogue takes anyway
Maybe it is just me, but the reason I use my subtlety build 98% of the time (as opposed to Assassinate) is because I enjoy staying alive and the subtlety tree provides me with extra escapability. That cannot be quantified with numbers.
Recently, in Borean, I jumped a fellow rogue and was on my way to victory when his buddy showed up - a L80 DK; I am screwed. Blind was trinket'ed out and I got a couple of DoTs on me - and I already used Cloak to get rid of the bleeds from the rogue - so I popped Shadow Dance, cheap shot him, sprinted and lived. That is not happening with any other spec and it occurs more than you would like to think.

Cloak doesn't remove bleeds. It does remove poisons though, if that's what you meant.

Must have been. I was too busy running for my life.
