Stopcasting macro Lava Burst?

Hi,

Simply put: Is it a good idea to use a stopcasting macro for Lava Burst?

I recently switched to elemental from enhancement and I spam LB when Lava Burst is on CD, using Weak Auras to track procs for Lava Burst CD reset, I constantly find myself spamming Lava Burst-button only to be forced to wait for LB to fire.

Any thoughts on this?

Yes, you are losing out on DPS if you decide to cancel cast a Lightning Bolt for the sake of Lava Burst.

Considering that your Lightning Bolt on average with at least 2000 haste, is equivalent to a casting time of 1.7 - 2.0 seconds, if you cancel this cast, you are saving yourself 0.2 - 0.5 seconds worth of time due to the GCD kicking in regardless. This is on top of the fact that with latency, the 0.5 maximum seconds of saved time is virtually impossible.

Much math isn't need to calculate the DPS loss.
