Should items from Emalon/ Archavon be swappable?

'Lo all.
Every time I do Archavon and Emalon, and a piece of Tier 7 and 8 drops, and it happens to be Death Knight, it always seems to be the wrong spec, which for me is a tank spec. I am DPS, and I'm just not lucky when I want something to drop.
Last night, in Emalon 25 with the PuG I died, surprisingly, there was only 2 Death Knights. Hoho, 2 Death Knight Tier 8 gloves drop, both tank spec, one for each of us. I will NEVER tank. On my Shaman I don't mind DPS'ing or Healing, but I find I only play Death Knight as DPS. I can tank a lot better than some, but I don't want to collect the gear up and do it.
This morning I got a 3 hour ban, for making out I purchased the wrong item with my token and it was not refundable for some reason. The GM caught on (it worked on my Shaman with Tier 5 back in the day) and gave me a warning on the account, and a ban. I admitted that I thought I might as well try it, as stupid as it was, but it was worth a try, as I have no use for the Tier 8 offspec, unlike the people who actually do.
So, my point is, say if an item dropped, and you won as an offspec, do you think you should have a 2 hour time limit to trade it in for a token and buy another spec?
There are potential problems with this theory however; some members of the raid might not agree with a 'roll for main spec first, if not roll for offspec to trade it in' idea. Every Death Knight / other classes may roll on their respective item, regardless of the spec, causing more rolls even if it is the item for your correct spec.
What do you think? It annoys me when one or the other of the bosses fails to drop any class respective items week in week out, but when they finally do it seems to be offspec.
Oh, and I'm not implying in any way that either of them should drop tokens. That would probably double / triple the amount of rolls depending on the group set up :-/.

Ooooh is this a "Let's @#$%^ at Blizz for how they designed VoA" thread?
I hate VoA. I have 3 80s, and run VoA every single week with each of them, and have, since February. You may call it bad luck, but I have YET to have something drop for my mainspec for ANY of my toons.
IMO, they should just drop the tier tokens. That would resolve this Mainspec/Offspec argument, and would help when you're in 10 man Emalon, T8 Rogue piece drops, and guess what, no Rogue in group.

But there is a reason to have loot drop and leave it on the boss' body, simply because no one in the raid could equip it?

No, you disenchant it just like any other loot that no one in the raid can use.
Blame your raid leader for not finding every class and every different spec.
VoA gear can't be disenchanted btw.

no pvp gear can be disenchanted (anywhere, not just in vault), but the tier pieces absolutely can be
10 man, just try to have one of each class, 25 man, it's tough *not* to have at least one of each class

You tried to say you bought the wrong tier piece to a GM off a VoA loot to get it changed to the one you wanted?
You scumbag. You deserved that ban for wasting the GM's time.
While you're at it get a GM to give you a new bag of fishing goodies cuz yours didn't have a Stormjewel in it.
