Should I head to Northrend once I hit 70?

Ive recently started a mage and Im following Jame's excellent horde guide. Im using the heirloom shoulders and staff, so levelling has been excellent.
The real question is that should I immidiately head to northreand at 70? The reason im asking is the leveling speed. I hit level 62 doing plagueland quests, and i even didnt do them all. Now im 65 and im still in hellfire peninsula. Im sure one or two more outland zones and ill hit 70.
I understand that 1-70 has been made alot easier with lower xp requirements etc, so once I hit 70 and the harder xp needed kicks in, would doing quests in outland still be viable?
-Do the quest rewards of similar levels scale with the level? i.e level 70 quest in outland will give the same xp of a a similar type level 70 quest in northrend
-Hence, would it be worth it to still do quests in Outland?
The reason I ask is that if its basically the same, id like to do the outland quests for rep, gold as well as leaving alot of northrend quests available once im 80. I can do these quests at 80 and get tons of gold from them.
Thanks for your time.
TL;DR Is it faster to level in northrend once im 70?

the experience you get from mobs in northrend is greater, and the experience you get form quests is greater. In all actuality, you can head to northrend at 68 and burn thru the last two levels to 70 at a ridiculous pace. (measure the amt of time from 67-68 in outlands, then head to northrend at 68 and see how long it takes you to ding again.. you'll be amazed).
in short, yes, head to northrend as soon
at least
as soon as you hit 70.

So youre saying I should wait till 70? Some people are telling me to rush as soon as 68.
Speed is of importance of me, so should I rush to NR at 68 to rush through the levels?

if you're looking to hit 80 as soon as possible, then yes hitting NR at 68 would be the way to do it. you'll burn your way from 68-70 in howling fjord or borean tundra really quickly because the xp for those quests and mobs are based off of a ~1.5mil xp bar that you get form 70 on.. for 68-70 you only need around half a million xp or so.

Actually I was discussing this matter with myself in my head (with several of my own personalities apparently) and then I remembered how fast I lvled up my shaman from 58-60 using outland quests instead of finishing the plagueland quests. Holy cow. I literally got 1/3 of a level at 58 just by doing the intro quests and I had only killed like 20 mobs at this point. I'm now level 66 and I'm trucking through Nagrand to get up to 68 to hit NR. Can't wait. ;-)

I guess you already are questing in Northrend but just in case you're not or anybody for that matter, it's better and easier to lvl to 68 doing quest in Nagrand - Ring of Blood chain quests, Nesingwary killing beasts quests are easy XPs.
After leveling a few toons through Outlands, I found the Nesingwary quests got a bit monotonous, so I like to get a little variety when leveling the next ones. I often try different zones to level later alts to keep the game fresh.

Was there a reason to take a 16 day old thread and necro it just to say "me too"?
