I agree, i have both of the classes twinked in PvP, and they are quite easy to keep alive. Even untwinked i think i could do it. First off i am no means a master at PvP, but Druids are incredibly fun, Entangling Roots will stop your opponent while you go into travel form and get out of distance, then throw down the heals with bear form, and then unleash the pain.
Shamans they are good at resto for their fast heals, added with the healing/mana totems they can be a very nasty opponent, mixed with say a priest who can shield and fear they are almost unstoppable. Shocks added with any kind of Magma/Fire Totem will cause you some fast major pain.
I'd have to go with the Resto Druid, as they are a healing Warrior/Rogue. Which of course is very benificial.

If you are serious about doing PvP, you would spec as Resto, though you can do fine as an Elemental or Enhancement Shaman in 5v5. As a Shaman in 5v5, your only job is to fire off Bloodlust/Heroism and stay alive as long as possible while your teammates mop up the opposition 30% faster. If you are able to throw off a Chain Lightning or Two, or get off a Windfury, consider yourself very fortunate.
Druids abound the top teams in 2v2 and 3v3. Why? They have an answer to everything and are arguably harder to kill than even Paladins. Crowd Control? Check. Cyclone has no cooldown and is a super efficient way to CCing an opponent. Roots serves as a reliable snare. Mobility? Check. Ability to escape from just about anything by just shapeshifting..with 2.3, rogues can no longer catch Druids in Caster form. Heal over Times? Check. Lifebloom and Rejuvenation allows the Druid to heal his partner all the while looking out for himself...basically, no need to completely focus healing on your partner which gives you time to give more support and focus on CC. Dispell proof? Check. Lifebloom heals for huge amounts if dispelled. Purge-happy Shamans and Hunters, if not played right, could find themselves beating a stone wall.
Let's take a look at Shamans. Their core abilities, such as Bloodlust/Heroism, Earth Shield, and Shamanistic Rage(if Enh) are all easily dispelled by over half the classes and negated. Totems are knocked out by a simple wand or auto-attack macro. They have to cast to heal, which means they are not Earth Shocking or dropping totems, and that makes them vulneralbe to Interrupts, Silences, CC, and Mana Burns/Drains. They don't have any class-ability Shadow Resist, which makes it that much harder against all the Warlocks out there. They don't have any CC and very little anti-CC, which means that they don't have any escape mechanisms. However, their best attributes are rank 1 Earth Shocks and timely placed Grounding Totems, which makes Resto Shamans and their DPS partner an excellent "offensive hybrid" healer combination style.
In essence, Druids are more like Paladins and Priests combined. Powerful HoTs combined with extreme survivability combines to form an extremely powerful support class. Shamans are simply partially offensive-type healers that have the same vulnerabilities to lockout as a Paladin and probably the least of the 4 healers in terms of overall survivability and longetivity. Druids have high AC and various Forms, Paladins have Shield/Plate, and Priests have Power Word:Shield.

Not that i would bother reading all this, but from what i read of the last post "you would spec resto if you're serious about pvp" is in correct, if you look at most of the top 5's teams they are running an ele shaman resto is a thing of the past since the nerf to 2 warrior groups
Druids are by far greater than shamans in 2's and 3's, shamans can work decent in 3's and 2's dont get me wrong, but druid has a much higher request
If you're going to roll something, might as well make it a priest and go disc down to ps, its currently beyond op with an ar/prep rogue ...
