Hi guys,
I have come up with some ideas regarding our dear 'ol SP. If you like them and we make enough fuss about them, blizz might take notice and actually do something about them.
Also feel free to share and comment about.
1. This one is cosmetic. Add a glyph to the game that completely removes the "smoke" effect in shadowform. What is the point in having a good transmog when you cant actually see it.
2. Add a SINGLE TARGET INSANITY SPENDING ABILITY. Will call it MIND SPIKE for now, for the sake of reference further down. Should cost around 60 insanity to cast. Also Instant Cast spell with no cooldown. This is to either end Voidform and kill the mob or to synergize with
the other changes further down the line. Mainly to dump your insanity and do damage while doing it, damage should be 1.5x the damage of Mind Blast (Shadow Word: Void)
3. Make VOIDFORM a talent. Best way to be implemented is to add it via the Legacy of the Void talent. Suits the name and the theme. No cooldown, no uses per minute, nothing. Just your
everyday Voidform (same stats, bonuses and mechanics as in live). But a talent. Most of us dont want that thing anyway.
4. SURRENDER TO MADNESS. Baseline spell. Your big cooldown. Same mechanics as in Live (but with less damage to the player, 75% of current hp sounds reasonable)
5. DARK ASCENSION. Passive talent. Same spot. Improves your base Shadowform. 5% increased shadow damage, Mind Spike gains 3% increased damage per DOT on target (SW:P, VT, DP)
6. On the slot of Surrender to Madness. AOE Spell, Direct damage, Insanity spender, something like 70 insanity per cast.
7. LINGERING INSANITY - rework. Your Critical Spell hits generate additional 10 Insanity over the course of 5 seconds, Stacks up to 5 times.
So what is the point of this proposed changes ? You have 2 completely different play styles for the Shadow Priest. One is your old Shadowform with a touch of "builder-dumper" to it.
What you get is both things players want. Some want Voidform, fine you have it as a talent. Most of us dont want to come near it, fine too. These changes give players 2 diverse play styles.
One is ramping up damage and haste over time via Voidform. The second is more straight forward. Do your rotation, build insanity, dump it on a nuke spell. The second one is also more suitable for outdoor content, M+ and PvP. As it gives more freedom of movement, as Mind Spike is instant cast, it is useful for short fights combined with Shadow Word: Death, this is especially good in PvP as you are not required to be stationary almost all of the time to be able to do damage.
Thank you for your time
GL/HF & GG
