Shadow Bolt Rading Spec Idea

Would anyone be open to giving feedback on this
spec?
I have been messing around with many different ideas, and as for a full shadow bolt spec, this is what I came up with. It is quite different from anything else every though of, although allow me to explain.
Improved Shadow Bolt
and
Bane
are a given for the Destruction tree, although the whole idea for the 21 points in the tree was for the talent
Devastation
which adds 5% more crit for Shadow Bolt.
I believe my Demonology tree speaks for itself, but as for a few points here and there, they might be confusing. I did not have enough points for
Metamorphosis
which could be considered as a downfall, but I believe that the extra 5% crit for Shadow Bolt is much more appealing from
Devastation
. Also, I did not touch
Decimation
due to the fact that this build would not be casting Soulfire.
The rotation that would bring about the greatest dps would be:
CoE > Corruption > Shadow Bolt ... Corruption should be cast only once its duration is completed, and with the glyph, it adds that little chance of an extra Shadow Bolt every now and again. Perhaps an Immolate could be thrown in before Shadow Bolting, although once again... this is not a fire spec.
I have not seen an idea like this on the warlock forums yet, so positive criticism is greatly appreciated.

meta > devastation
decimation >> wasted points in destro
GoCorruption is horrible. immo would be the glyph of choice.
basically you've got a wonky meta spec. it
will
do less damage than a well balanced meta build so i would suggest you do that.

meta isn't actually quite as good as it sounds. i think the theorycrafted values put FG, LT and immo on top by quite a margin.

I beg to differ though. From what I have calculated, I see an average of 5K extra damage every minute with this
0/50/21 spec
than with a Metamorphosis
0/55/16 spec
.
I know that 5K is not much per minute, although that 5K is assuming that you are perfect with pressing Metamorphosis every 2 min approximately (fully talented). while it is up for the extra 20% damage increase.
I therefore believe that if you are only 1 second off from pressing Metamorphosis, then you are only contributing to your losses.
This way, you do not have to think about the extra 5% crit for Shadow Bolts and it is just natural for you to do extra damage

your 'calculations' were incorrect if they came to the conclusion that it's better to skip decimation and meta isn't just about 20% extra damage, immolation aura does huge amounts of damage.
if you want to test these things in a methodical way download simulation craft and run the two builds through it.

Well that is the issue since my warlock is not 80 yet, and I cannot see the full potential of a spec similar to these. But be aware that I believe that it is more important for players to build their own spec and know it very well, rather than follow a cookie cutter spec and not know the full implication of it.

in fact it's
best
for a player to know the class as a whole very well and use an optimised build. knowing a poor build very well may well give better results than playing a good build badly but that doesn't make the poor build the best option.

I agree with asakawa, that it is much more important for a player to know his class because in this game, Skill comes way before your spec or gear. As I have observed... many times before... I have seen people with heroic gear, out damage people with full Valorous. Skill is the most important trait in this game above all else.

Gear DOES matter, but gear will do nothing if you don't have skill. And you can make the most of your gear when you do have skill.
Skill is the most important trait in this game above all else.

QFT (as usual) Asa. Life tap and felguard are "musts," and immo is the best of the rest. I personally use meta rather than immo because I believe the real world (wow, can I use that term?) applications are better, but it doesn't theory craft as well.
