meh, I never used a guide or a quest helper. Honestly, who needs a guide to level?
People who don't want to waste 45 minutes running around the Barrens looking for Mankrik's wife?
Guides don't just tell you how to complete a quest. They try to give you the fastest way to complete the quests in a given zone to get you to the required level to move on to the next zone.

Isn't Blizzard putting something similar to Carbonite into the standard ui next major patch?

They also help prevent situations like you running halfway across the zone and back to kill 20 murlocs only to discover some other guy wants 15 murloc spleens for this awesome stew you've got to try.
Side note - I was farming for ironforge rep in loch modan and they kept sending me to kill various sorts of troggs, each batch behind the ones I'd just killed. If they had just said they wanted the whole village exterminated and, oh bring me the head of their leader, they could have saved both of us a lot of time. *shakes fist*

People won't need to find Mankrik's wife in the new expansion as she has been burned in a big fiery pit.
Troll1: Eh mon, what be dat delishus smell?
Troll 2: Dunno - smell like roasting orc.
Mankrik's wife: I am very badly burned!

This is one thing that I like about the quest system in Aion: When you take a quest "chain", it places it in a separate tab in your quest log, the Campaigns tab. Once you accept the campaign, you can always pick up
all
the steps from that campaign at once so that they can be completed in one go.

There's definitely more then 1 chain like this and yes, its terribly annoying. For all the efforts they've made to streamline questing, this is one thing that could definitely be changed.

Carbonite usually is pretty fast with the updates, had all the new quests from the Argent Tournament that were added in 3.2 in their database within about a week.

well i say this because of the massive environment change and how azeroth is different n stuff
For a while maybe. It depends on how fast the authors of these add ons want to put the bong down, lick the cheetos dust off thier fingers, and bang out the code for it from the time the info is available.
This is why datamining is cool. I anticipate qh within a week of launch, those guys seem pretty much on top of things and treat qh like thier baby
i dont know, i am pretty sure that they will have all the 80+ quests done within a week or tow, and all the broken quests removed shortly there after
but getting all the new azeroth ones i forsee as taking a month maybe two.
depending, ofc, on how many of their informers get ctaclysm betas
