I'm trying to determine the rewards from the
Satchel of Helpful Goods
(the reward for using the random LFG at low levels). If I can trust Wowheads' datamining, there are 7 different level brackets (based on
your characters' level, not
the instance level) that all give a unique rewardbag.
Each bag contains a single BoP rare random enchanted item.
If the reward item has an armor type, it will be the highest class that your character can use in that bracket (example: a level 39 warrior falls into the 35-45 bracket, so can recieve a plate item he cannot use for another level). The enchantment suffixes can be from both the classic and the TBC/Wrath list.
The brackets and corresponding rewards I was able to guestimate are in the following list. As you'll notice there are several oddities in the reward list, so I would appreciate any help in filling in the remaining bit, especially in the higher level brackets. I am also uncertain of the exact level brackets in the lower range, since the related quests show an overlap in level range (15 - 25 and 24 - 34 have two overlapping levels). And please point out any other errors I made in my description above :)
Range | iLvl | Item 1 - Material | Item 2 - Material

New itemlinks added in higher level brackets, revealing a repeating pattern in itemdrops.

No replies to this post, but a few new comments in the wowhead database with more information. Again, feedback is still appreciated.
The level of the instance may determine the lootbag recieved, rather then the level of the player. For example Stockades might give a loot bag from the 25-35 range to a level 23 player that gets it as his random dungeon. On my level 20 warrior I never got queued above SFK, but if you form a party with higher level players before queueing it might be possible to get a level 19 player into the 25-35 level bracket (twinks rejoice).
The 60-64 bracket indeed seems to give a reward from the 55-60 bracket.
The 65-70 bracket might also give a random enchanted shoulder item that isn't in the wowhead database yet.
General consensus is that for players in Outland the rewards are very poor compared to instance and quest rewards and drops. In pre-BC instances the bag gives very nice rewards though.
The requirement to recieve a bag is Use the Random option, and Kill the boss that unlocks the achievement for completing that instance. So for RFC only the first boss has to be killed, while for WC Mutanus (and thus all other bosses) has to be killed.
There are frequent reports of bags not being rewarded, so it still seems a bit buggy. If your bags are full, it will be mailed to you.
The random enchants are completely random (see
wowwiki
) and can be quite useless to your class and/or spec. TBC suffixes are generally better then classic suffixes.

I'm a hunter, and yesterday I did a run when I was level 35, and I got leather gloves, while the first run I did I got mail shoulders, and I think I was level 34 (though I'm not sure).
The enchantments do seem to be random, but luckily I got the gloves and shoulders that were "of the Monkey". Now I just have to wait a few levels before I can equip the shoulders.

What instance did you run when you got the shoulders (35-45 bracket) and what instance did you run when you got the gloves (25-35 bracket)?

I think the shoulders was Razorfen Downs and the gloves was SM - Library.

Bracketing seems to be based on
instance
rather then
character
level then. Using mostly the work from
jkstrawn
this seems to be the list:
15-25
:
Ragefire Chasm
The Deadmines
Wailing Caverns
Shadowfang Keep
? Blackfathom Deeps ?
26-35
:
The Stockade
Gnomeregan
Razorfen Kraul
SM - Graveyard
SM - Library
36-45
:
Razorfen Downs
SM - Armory
SM - Cathedral
? Uldaman ?
46 - 55
:
Zul'Farrak
Maraudon
Sunken Temple
Blackrock Depths
56-60/64
:
? Blackrock Spire - Stratholme ?
61-64
:
? Hellfire Ramparts - Mana Tombs
65 - 70
:
? Auchenai Crypts - Magister's Terrace ?

Nice looking list so far, I've gotten a couple of things on my DK, just can't remember them now XD but its kinda nice to know what instance will drop what item.

Just a small update: from experience it seems that queueing solo for a random dungeon will only put you in instances that are marked yellow in the selection list. The color coding, at least when leveling, seems to be exclusively based on your level. My level 20 warrior has Ragefire Chasm marked green and Stockades and Blackfathom Deeps marked orange and those are never selected when picking the random option. Grouping with higher or lower level characters before picking the random dungeon option should change this, but I haven't tested it.
The eligible level ranges for each dungeon are also shown in the selection list. I don't have acces to the game right now, but do recall that Stockades has a minimum level of 20 while Blackfathom Deeps has a minimum level of 19. Unless Blackfathom Deeps drops the 25 - 35 bracket bag, this means that level 19 twinks can't ever get a iLvl 35 item. I don't know what the level ranges are for the higher brackets, perhaps there are possibilities for 29, 39 etc twinks. Zul'Farrak for example seems like a good place to be eligible for level 39 characters but drops an iLvl 55 item.

BFD is indeed in the 15-24 range. I got it three times in a row as a random dungeon and ended up with a pile of useless belts.

has anyone else had problems getting these from Diremaul east groups? it doesn't seem to give us the message that we've finished after downing all the bosses. Does it expect us to do DM west and north too? as those show up in a seperate class in the LFD system and are higher level.
EDIT: just cleared all of BRD on a random group. no satchel. said we did 19/19 bosses in lower city of BRD, we cleared the entire instance, even the optional bosses like the coffer room and the bartender.
For Dire Maul, you probably have to kill the King in north. Although they have different entrances, the DM wings are not separate instances but just parts of the whole. As for BRD, I'm not sure but I have heard something about a bug not rewarding the bag if you happen to let the princess die at the end, even if you kill the Emperor.

I just ran BFD and Stockades. Both awarded me a cloak and should be in the lowest ilevel group.
