Divine Protection is great, considering it's a low-cooldown ability that will inevitably be ready to go during the next grand melee you enter into.
Personally using SoC in pvp is much better than SoB especially when using Glyph of Seal of Command for that extra 20% proc chance and who cant love that 100% crit chance when target is stunned! Seeing SoC crit for 6k-7.5k is much nicer than seeing SoB crit for 3k -.-
20% extra proc chance means 48% proc with a 3.4sec weapon (40%*1.2 = 48%)
So, the chance of doing more damage using SoC instead of SoB becomes 11.1%. Meaning that 88.9% of the time, you're better off using SoB, simply because it procs more often and you don't need to stuff up your rotation, big judgment aside. (Can SoC still double-crit when the target is stunned? I thought that it's now 'auto crit', as opposed to 'double damage, which can also crit'. So you can only get one crit effect.)
If you take the chance and stuff your rotation around, then you can up your % chance to 28.3% that SoC will be better. However, that still means that there's a 71.7% chance that SoB is better. This is giving SoC every bleeding chance and every benefit of the doubt to be better, and it still falls well short. Enough said.
Edit: looked it up and found 20% means 40% * 1.2, rather than 40% + 20%. Numbers adjusted accordingly, result hasn't changed.
