1 point in reckoning will give you about ~2% extra damage overall and ~2% threat for a beginning pally
which would go down to ~1% when you start raids
it diminishes with progression... but w.e.
if you're lacking in serious threat, go for it
i'd rather put it in imp. SotC or PoJ, but that's my personal preference

Maybe I'm a little confused but I was under the impression that Reckoning was the one UBER pally tanking/threat generating talent. Am I wrong or was the talent changed in some way in the last few patches?

At the high end, you're hit less and less.
My understanding is that since Reckoning procs only on hits, you're going to get far fewer procs as your gear gets better (when you'll be taking fewer actual hits).

Reckoning has a chance to proc every time you take damage, so periodic damage sources like poison, or attacks that are shield-blocked still have a chance to proc reckoning. That's the reason why I took it, anyway.

Thank you TempestReborne. Hadn't really thought about the fact that with the better gear your not going to be hit nearly as often. For a leveling pally tank I'm guessing it's still worth putting points into it.
