Even at 40, i can just dot them up and kite them around and not die =) survivability isnt a problem also when in a raid or pvp... im not looking for arena pvp just general and mostly looking for raid/5mans

This is my build

I run 25 man raids and am never lower the 10th on damage meters plus I do CoS and Imp for the tanks so I am always in on the raids. I am fairly well geared (only 2-3 blues) but my spell hit is low. as it goes up I will lose the few points I have in Suppresion. This build also works well in 5 mans and solo pve. I can take on about 5-7 mobs at once lvl 70s. I do ok in PVP but not as good as SL/SL.
It really depends on what you want. If you want to be top DPSer then don't go afflict, go DemoSack. But if you want all around usefulness then this is the way to go IMO.

This is my "all purpose" build.

PvP is generally BG's for me, so Curse of exhaustion is seldom worth while as I tend to stick with pack fights, playing more of a support role with the aoe fears and Seed of Corruption.
For farming and soloing I generally chain grind, tanking 2 or 3 mobs that are all dotted up and drain tanking another with my imp out.for a mana battery.
For Raiding I am not the lock on curse of shadow duty so I am free to dot away. Ruin is there even though my crit rate leaves a little to be desired (15% before buffs) the crits i get with gear based on mostly shadow bonus are great. I hit as hard as the Destro guys I ran with and had some heavy hitting dots ticking away the whole time.
The build lacks a few things, like CoEx for pvp, or improved imp for the health bonus. I kinda miss my 42/19/0 build for grinding, but it was horrible for pvp, and SL/SL is crappy for anything BUT pvp, this was the compromise that I made. With more hit rating I would take the points in suppression and put one in CoEx. Otherwise that build works great for me.

It isn't really the Warlock that prefers CoS over CoA, it's for the benefit of the raid group. Because 3 points in Malediction provides a 2.7% damage increase for all benefiting from the curse, it generally causes a larger damage increase for the whole raid group, at the expense of one Warlock's personal dps
yes this is very true. However, to be 100% sure which curse does most dmg overall you'd have to have a raid DPS meter open and let it run for a little bit then look at the classes and quickly do the maths on how much dmg CoS or CoE is providing. In 10 man instances like Kara, CoA is highly likely to actually do more dmg overall. In 25 it probably does less but you still need to look at the class balance and decide.
Also - the more locks you raid with the more likely it is that one of them can benefit the raids dmg by having 2/2 imp CoA.
Only comments i would make as to the rest of an affliction build is get imp Howl of Terror. It has many uses and it is the most fun talent in the tree.
