Each side has its dark side and its good side.
Except for the Legion and Scourge, just plain evil.

Naaru would be considered pure good, even their so called "evil" ones aren't that evil, they're usually used by others.

Heh, actually before Lich King came out, the Alliance were technically the "Bad" guys, after all we had Lady Prestor aka Onyxia more or less leading Stormwind.

Not really: Forsaken on a whole is suppose to be evil, but there are good ones. The Draenei and the Eredar are the same race, but complete polar opposities.

Scerkus, it's a little more complicated than you're making it I'm afraid. In the original RTS games you could've gone with the logic that the Alliance was good and the Horde was evil. However, in WCIII Blizzard began to move away from that--probably in preparation for WoW. Now you're left with a system that's more opposing view-points than good and bad. It's much truer to real-life conflicts at this point. The bulk of either side is generally 'good' whereas there are a few in each faction that are just pure evil.
If it makes your life any easier though, the Horde were previously considered the bad guys and now they have the Forsaken which is (at least in my opinion) the most evil of the playable races. Also, the Horde has a darker past. Most, if not all, of the atrocities they committed weren't their fault, but... they still physically did them.
Good luck!

Ganit, that description was very helpful. Thanks, and thank you to everyone else who posted :)
You're very welcome, Scerkus.
Oh, and just for curiosity's sake: Which side did you want to be? Good or evil?

No. Don't be an elf, there is too many of them!
Yes, I'm prejudice towards elves.

For now, good, but it's subject to change. Normally I go for evil guys (WAR, KOTOR, etc.) so it's nice to throw in a curveball every once in a while. I know I want to be an elf so I guess I'm deciding between Night Elf and Blood Elf. Suggestions?
The blood elf popultion is off the charts, the night elf population is pretty high too. I have one (a night elf) but only because I wanted to be a druid. However, my advice has always been "play what you feel."

If you're looking for a race that has the least amount of evil in their history as possible, then I would say Night Elves, Tauren, Trolls and Draenei. Dwarves and Gnomes are also good candidates, but I wanted to make the list even for both sides.
But as Septimus said, don't roll a Blood Elf, they might be pretty to look at, but they are by far the most over-populated race in WoW. Give the Trolls some love, there aren't too many of us.

Wait, how do trolls have the least amount of evil? Other then Darkspear, every other troll tribe are xenophobic cannablistic manifest destiny grade A arseholes lol.

I'd like think the trolls aren't so much bent on true evil, maybe more or less misguided and doing what they think is proper for their gods.

So does that make the Silithid's not evil? Even though they do the same things the trolls do?
